Sakurai Shares Tips On Using Little Mac In Super Smash Bros.

Director Masahiro Sakurai has revealed a few more details on Little Mac in the new Super Smash Bros. game.

 

On Miiverse, Sakurai posted the screenshot above, stating: “Little Mac’s side smash attack is his straight right punch…but it can transform into an uppercut if you tilt diagonally upward, or a body hook if you tilt diagonally downward. The body hook is the most devastating of these moves and it doesn’t blast the opponents away.”

 

He added in a follow-up comment: “The trick in activating these punches is to avoid tilting the controls diagonally from the get go–instead, tilt up or down right after the smash attack starts kicking in. You can also tilt up or down while you’re powering up.”

    If this sort of attack variation is connected to the smash attack after a normal combo then little mac just maybe phenomenal for setting up large combos

        Possibly, though for mac I’m imagining that his upper cut can lead to a continued air combo or the body hook for a ground combo. The air combo would only be possible for opponents at low damage or else they would get knocked too far away to juggle unless the upper cut is the same as the body hook in that opponents aren’t knocked away like a normal smash attack

      He’s not an air fighter, basically the moment Mac’s feet lose the ground he’s crap.

            well if you don’t take their word on it, there is little else anyone can give you with the limited footage/screens we have been given.
            not unless there are some people here who are secretly game tester working with Sakurai on this game.

          Watch the trailer, Doc even says he’s no air fighter which proceeds to show him to fail and be KO’d. There’s ya proof.

            Fine. Here. Miiverse comment from Sakurai on a photo of Little Mac. “…However, he’s not the strongest fighter while airborne. Try keeping his feet on the ground and avoid being blasted into the air when you use him in battles.”

    Im guessing the uppercut is like a 2nd up Smash with more horizontal range. and the hook is like a combo extender or something.
