Monster Hunter 4 Gets Luffy And Zoro’s Weapons From One Piece

By Ishaan . March 12, 2014 . 12:23pm

Monster Hunter 4 is getting more DLC in Japan, the upcoming issue of Jump magazine in Japan reports. The next collaborative piece of DLC will be with One Piece once again, and will feature Luffy’s “Gigant Pistol” and three of Zoro’s swords. (Thanks, kazu4281)

The Gigant Pistol will be a Dual Sword weapon. Meanwhile, Zoro’s swords—dubbed “Pirate Hunter’s Soul”—are of the Great Sword class.

This is the second major collaboration Monster Hunter 4 has enjoyed with One Piece. A previous collaboration brought Chopper to the game as a replacement for your Felyne, and also gave players access to weapons used by Usopp and Nami.

While Monster Hunter 4 will not be released in the west, Capcom will be bringing the updated version of the game, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (or 4G in Japan) to North America and Europe in early 2015.

    oooooh really cool.

  • Nanajana

Man, I would love to see those two in action.

  • Lifestreamer

At least they depicted Wadou Ichimonji, Sandai Kitetsu and Shuusui correctly, they’re looking awesome…..and HUGE! And imo, a pair of black and round giant fistcuffs would be better as a Luffy themed weapon.

  • ninjabart122

I thought it was a weird overlook in the title when they said Luffy until I saw the actual weapon.

    *Long Sword

Zoro’s Weapon is a Long Sword, not a Great Sword. Check 太刀 near the Long Sword User’s left leg which is Japanese for Long Sword.

  • Demise

According to the article, Zoro’s weapons are actually in the Longsword class not Greatsword.

  • Göran Isacson

I have to admit, modelling two swords into GIGANTIC FISTS is a pretty darn hilarious sight. Kudos, Capcom.

  • konsama

It would be awesome if this content was localized, One Piece is big enough in the west to just let it pass.

  • 하세요

Hope they are actually useful. Natsu’s gear is surprisingly awesome, both armor and the Dual Swords. Now I’m obligated to play more tonight.

    • Namuro

Yeah, the Zodias set is pretty useful. I have at least one Zodias part in almost all of my armour sets. I don’t really use the Dual Swords, though. LOL

  • J_Joestar

So for the Zoro swords, is he basically just going to swing them with his hands together or something? I can’t picture them giving it completely unique attack animations.

  • WolfDuo

Kinda want this game now. Shame I’m saving for Ps4.
At this point, I wish they’d just bring out a moster hunter for PS3 or PS4 that has a western release.

  • xavier axol

monster hunter and one piece?! why not through attack on titans as well, I’m sure it will fit right in.

    • 하세요

If Phantasy Star can, it won’t surprise me if they do in the future or in 4G. Little do many now, many of these DLC collabs are made before production. Hackers found out most of the DLC last year before it was patched up.

    • Mckrongs

There were already DLC Equipment based on Attack on Titan in Monster Hunter 3 G that featured an Armor Set based on their uniforms and a Dual Blades type Weapon too. Due to licensing problems these content never made it to its english counterpart Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and they were either dummied out or reskinned as a different named Equipment.

  • I just wish all the collaborations with One Piece, Mario and Zelda (and any others I may have forgotten) make it into the English version of 4 Ultimate. There shouldn’t be any licensing problems…unless Namco Bandai get involved (licensing rights to One Piece games).

  • MaskedHero99

Im a one piece fan & MH

    How was chooper

  • Kazekage Gaara

I hope all this sexy DLC comes to the NA version as well D:

  • Namuro

Ah, I’ve seen a leaked image of Luffy’s Gigant Pistol ages ago, but I thought that it must be a fake image. Glad to see that it’s the real deal!

Too bad, though, since I don’t really use Dual Swords. It’s the second least used weapon for me… But at least there’s Zoro’s swords! I’ve been wondering how it would look on the character. Good to see that they can hold all three, even if only one is being used…

  • SymphonySora

Even though I’m a one piece fan and admire the DLC I seriously doubt that the one piece DLC would make it to the west because in a way onepiece has been lost in time in America, it’s not an ongoing series like it is in Japan, and most of the characters designs are based on newer versions of the characters
