Klei Entertainment, the developer of Mark of the Ninja, are working on a tactical espionage game, titled Invisible, Inc. The game, originally titled Incognita, is a turn-based game and is heavily inspired by XCOM.

A new trailer for the game released this week shows off gameplay from Invisible, Inc. and explains some of the game’s mechanics. The goal of the game is to break into locations with tight security and steal various kinds of items, and the trailer demonstrates some of the ways you’ll incapacitate security in order to reach your goal.

Additionally, Klei have also provided an in-depth update on additions and changes that were recently made to the game via their forums. You can read the update here.

I prefer the name Incognita way more than Invisible Inc. There was no need to change it.

Ha! I just realized it. Now I’m a fan.

I swear to god, every single Sci-Fi-ish RPG in the last two years has been inspired by X-COM. That’s not a bad thing, but I feel like I’ve played that game nearly a dozen times already even though I’ve actually only beat X-COM once.

People have been doing this style of RPG for a while now, and not just in the last 2 years

I agree, isometric RPGs have been here for a long time. But many games in the last two years have pretty much took the main ideas of covered based shooting, losing allies, high difficulty, and others directly from X-COM. Many of them willingly admit it too.

I mean that specific style has been done for a while. Jagged Alliance, one of my old old favorites shows as much
