Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 DLC Trailer Features The Return Of Alucard

A trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2’s upcoming “Revelations” DLC shows off scenes from the additional story episode. Alucard, who is a playable character in the DLC, has his own skills to use, as well as a separate story that serves as a prequel to the main game.

Here’s how Konami describe the story of the Revelations DLC:

Alucard, the turned son of Gabriel, has shunned human life for many years, choosing to hunt only creatures of the night. The DLC takes place just before the apocalyptic events of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, where Alucard readies for his father’s return and the forthcoming battle against Satan. As the plot unfolds, it begins to reveal how the lone vampire is inextricably linked to his father’s fate.

The Revelations DLC will be available for Lords of Shadow 2 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 25th. It will cost $7.99.

    This is just nostalgia comment.
But I wish new character game mode is unlockable feature.
Using different set of skill to destroy boss is a challenge.

Nothing can beat the awesomeness of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

While SOTN was amazing… Aria of Sorrow is the best Metroidvania…

  • Otoya

Not a big fan of Lord of Shadow series but a big fan to Alucard. Might get this and play. LOL

    • Crevox

It’s not the same Alucard you know or care about.

Somehow I thought Alucard would be playable in the main game. Maybe the one to actually end the series.

So this basically fill in the Story hole in Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 (really need to finish it)

This raises some incentive of owning LoS2, and not just because of Alucard.

… Huh. Certainly hope they don’t use this to display important plot points in the Lords of Shadows 2 story (still haven’t played it), since I don’t have much room left on my PS3 for DLC.

Well, it’s kind of hard to explain without spoiling a part of Lords of Shadow 2. I am pretty positive that it will be a branch of a part of the main story that gets explained near the end of Lords of Shadow 2.

In a way, it would be displaying plot points of Lords of Shadow 2, however in a side-story kind of fashion. This probably isn’t the best analogy, but I would compare it to if FF7 had released DLC that explained in greater detail what Barrett was doing before he met Cloud. The extra explanation is nice for those who want to know, but not necessary to the main story.

      • Göran Isacson

Aah, that’s a’right. I was just hoping we wouldn’t see a repeat of Lords of Shadows real end actually being DLC, so if this is basically just a “nice to know but not necessary” story, I’m cool with it.

….so his son set things up before hand? interesting
