By Ishaan . March 20, 2014 . 1:30am

NIS America have shared a batch of new screenshots for Mugen Souls Z, slated for release in North America on May 20th and in Europe on May 23rd. Here’s a brief story summary from NISA:

Taking place immediately after the first game, you take control of the goddess Syrma, who meets Chou-Chou just after the end of the first game’s events. Syrma is out to stop an ancient threat to her world that has recently awakened. 9999 levels of maniacal mishaps and ethereal adventures await Syrma, her crew, and hordes of shampurus as Mugen Souls Z hits Western shores in 2014!

You can find the new screenshots for the game below.

  • You heard her. Go on. Touch it. lol

    • M’iau M’iaut

Lies! We aren’t allowed to touch either of them in the game.

      • Landale

Just physical touching, or is emotional touching off limits too?

      • But-but. Chou-Chou said I could! (Runs off crying)

        • M’iau M’iaut

Thats what you get for listening to 500 year olds who dont look a day over 8.

    • makubexnas

well just touch ‘it’ if you know what i mean..

    • Sentsuizan_93

      Sylma’s face…. lol!

    • DyLaN

*poke* (OT regulars should get this joke)

      • *poke*

        • DyLaN

          > DyLaN used scratch!

          • > AzureNova used bite!

          • makubexnas

            >MakubexNas use Lick!

          • darke

            >Darke pokes it with a question mark?

  • Maria Garcia

You should ask them about the censoring in the game

    • Landale
      • Armane

That was a press release, not an interview to determine why they removed it again/even bothered localising this version, when the last one sold poorly because of the censorship.

        • Landale

“You should ask them about the censoring in the game”
“Siliconera asked NIS America to clarify the edits and the bath mini-game that was removed from Mugen Souls will not be in Mugen Souls Z.”

          Who said anything about interviews?

    • DyLaN

Can we please not beating up a dead horse?

      • Herok♞

But come on we all know the minor minigames are the main draw of this type of game, after all who needs anything like story, game play or character development. Then again its not like you can still get the cut content and more with a quick google search!

    • Shady Shariest

…I had no idea that a bathing minigame was the main feature of the game for so many people…

      • ryesta7971

We can handle the same content as the Japanese audience. Fuck the normies and people who cater to them

        • KuroNathan

Again, it is not a matter of protecting the audience or open mindedness. It is a matter of legality as Canada and parts of Europe have strict laws against child pornography that extends to drawn characters as well. If you have an issue with that you should bring it up with law makers rather then punish the localization team.

          • ryesta7971

maybe these other countries should step up and take a big whiff of that American FREEDOM

We’re sick of being held down because the europoor babies can’t handle a drawn loli

          • M’iau M’iaut

Enough. Find another place for the bigoted and hateful comments. Warned.

          • ryesta7971

my my….what a prude you are

    • ryesta7971

just buy it 2nd-hand off eBay when it hits a fair price. It’s obviously going to tank just like the last game because NISA can’t learn their lesson

      • Sean ‘Geg’ Reddie

I’m sure it tanked SOOO much that Nisa decided to localize the second game and keep censorship. And oh, they’ve already confirmed they’ve pulled massive profits each year on their forum since they began localisations.

        • ryesta7971

But it did sell terrible. They’re still selling the platinum edition on their store because no one bought them.

And NISA had massive profits mostly in part thanks to Neptunia. NISA likes to pick their battles, and they fight for some franchises more than others. Mugen Souls is on the short end of that stick.

I’ll still get a copy in the near future, but again, getting it 2nd-hand because I don’t support censorship, especially self-censorship.

    • SlickRoach

After playing South Park: The Stick of Truth I find it weird that most bath scenes from JRPPGs get censored when they get localized. But I guess it’s the different mentalities of East and West I guess.

      • BUG

The bath scenes are not censored in Mugen Souls or Mugen Souls Z. It’s the optional CGs you point at random spots to hear them make noise that people call a minigame that’s gone when it’s not even really a game.

I don’t even find the minigame CGs are not even that hot compared to the normal hot spring pictures that are still in…

  • Kornelious

Looking good, I can’t wait for me sweet Limited Edition :D

  • Learii

nooooooooooooo not that battleship again =(

  • Jesse

I’ll be getting it eventually in spite of those refusing to buy it. I could care less about them taking that creepy stuff out. =P

  • Draparde

I’ll be buying this for sure when it comes out.

  • Alestaos

Still havent made my way through the first one, i bought it but still havent really played it that much. I think the Peon system with the personality part of it made me partly think…wtf. Though normally i love these games…also i think this should of been of both Ps3 and Vita we gotta pump some stuff into the vita to keep it alive with these types of games in the west lol
