  • lackofstyle

Hey they fixes shiro’s ugly clothes, thats cool

    • Ereek

True, but it’s going to take some getting used to. After years of hideous clothing, Shirou finally changing into something decent has me reeling.

      • lackofstyle

Did you have this problem when they fixed shiki’s equally as ugly clothes in carnival phantasm?

        • Ereek

To be honest, not so much. But mostly because it’s Carnival Phantasm and I didn’t really take anything serious there, let alone a clothing change.

      • doubleO7

Well, not exactly. As seen in the concept art he’s clearly just wearing a new jacket on top of the same old shirt.

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

      thank fashion god

  • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

They realy don’t look that different…which is a good thing. Better not mess up my Rin or Saber.

    • Iluz

They’ve made the coat and the skirt that she’s wearing in the poster shorter (attached images for comparison).
On the one hand I was excited to possibly get more outfits for Rin (Saber too but she has to maintain that knightly look so they can’t really mess around with that) but on the other hand I was afraid that it might be for the worse.
The new version might have less of that “powerful sorceress” aura but it’ll be better for physical combat (and look better for it too- midair flips anyone?).

      • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

A wardrobe change is hardly a change. It’s good to know that they too have more than 1 pair of clothing.

        • natchu96

Nah, they always have multiple pairs. They just buy a dozen sets of the same outfit to avoid accidentally washing the wrong colors together.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/xxHiryuuxx Kaleido-Ruby

I have faith they won’t mess me up.

      • Ric Vazquez

        They better not

  • Rudy Soto

    Shirou’s new jacket’s bitchin’

He is ready for all those combat scenes. (Unless it’s mostly based on the fate route)

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Nothing really changed…aside Shirou’s new outfit

  • rpgmaniac

Let’s hope that this would be awesome like the first FS/N & not disappointing like Zero, the first FS/N actually was amazing one of my all time favorite anime, all they need to do is make the animation & the battles more impressive like the ones from Zero the only part were Zero was better than FS/N imo other than that I find it boring.

    • Suicunesol

Hah, you’re one of the few who prefers the first FS/N. Zero was adapted from a novel by Urobuchi Gen, so it had a different writer and atmosphere.

I like them both, by the way.

      • rpgmaniac

I don’t know from where it was adapted I just know that it was boring like hell.. the only thing that saved it for me a little was the few good battles although it wasn’t many & those few didn’t last long, the first FS/N was brilliant the pace was perfect the relationship with the various characters had meaning it make me care for Shirou & Saber & the end was very sad, it left me devastated for days & that’s why it is much better than Zero imo because it make u care for the characters the story was more touching Zero was the complete opposite & that’s why I just watch it once & never bother again.

    • Shippoyasha

I thought Zero was still good though there really were too many episodes where they’d go on lengthy dialogues before something major happening.

      • kaotron

yeah, I find that the main problem with zero was that at times there were to much talking of exposition/explanation of the story’s world.

while the ’06 version of fate stay night wasnt adapted all that well and let a lot of people down who were fans of the original VN and new people who wanted to see it after fate/zero

    • Ferrick

the first FS/N was amazing? Lol k

      • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

if he think it’s amazing then it’s amazing. No point laughing at someone because you don’t share their opinion :/

        • Ferrick

kaishou my dear, this is the internet

          • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

I’m trying to stay away from being an internet child mind you.

          • Ferrick

            and failing at that too

          • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

derp derp…oops? but seriously stay out of trouble lol

        • Kurizu208

True but the first anime adaptation for FSN was really terrible.

          • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

That I can agree on. Never really appreciate the universe until I saw Kara no Kyoukai.

    • XiaomuArisu

Lol what!?!? Zero is better then the first FSN in every way!

      • J_Joestar

Probably more in the sense that Zero was more story/dialogue driven and not the typical straight forward clashes kind of thing that FSN employed more of.

    • lackofstyle

Yea I hope that they don’t suck all of the fun out of the story. Sure there are some serious parts but, they are balanced by some truly funny moments, like when shirou asked saber for a super move :D

  • Noor Mahmoud

Dat trailer! Wow, the combat looked so fluid. If this tops Fate/Zero, which is should, it will mean a new standard of animation :L

  • Makoto Yuki

Shirou looks more mature now. I like where they are going

  • TheLastBattalion

Wow, all of these new designs looks pretty great!
I was kind of hoping that they would screw up Rin’s design as she is easily one of my worst (if not, the worst) character in the Type Moon saga. -_-
Especially with all of the bloody fanboys around her.
    Anyways, here’s the important question:
    How does Kotomine look?

  • Istillduno

Hmm, from the looks of it this might be the game’s 3rd route, nice.

  • mojack411

I really like Sakura’s new look. She looks so much more mature than she did before which will really lend to her character for plot reasons I won’t go into. Everything else just looks gorgeous and slick.

  • luckgandor

I like how Saber isn’t even on that poster.

  • OtoriGolden

Taiga still has the skills, even though she’s [censored] years old!

    • natchu96

She looked like a teenager in Zero and Einzbern Consultation Room, she can’t be that old . . .

Though still old enough that her personality just strikes as weird.

  • BillyMK

I hope it will have Kalafina and Luna Haruna as well? *o*

    • Blackburn7

If Yuki Kajiura does the soundtrack again (which I hope <3) the chance that Kalafina will be somewhere in there is like… 100%.

I hope they'll keep the opening song though, one of the few good things about the original FSN Anime

      • http://www.fogalchemist.com/ caleb1993

Well it was music taken from the original game, so that probably helps as well XD

        • Iluz

I’d put my money on it not being disillusions (the same OP), since it’s by ufotable this time- they’ve made the 3 OPs for the vita version of Realta Nua and it had three different songs, all of them fantastic, by earthmind (Arcadia for Fate, Horizon for UBW and the distinct Another Heaven for the distinct Heaven’s Feel).
If earthmind will perform a new OP for the new series as well I’m certain that it will not disappoint.

  • Masa

they look pretty much the same as always…not much change at all.

    • kaotron

shirou has a new casual jacket design instead of the same t-shirt, nothing else is new…

      • doubleO7

Heck, even then he’s just wearing the jacket on top of his regular shirt.

        • kaotron

and for some reason it has to be the exact same color and design as the shirt he’s wearing under it…

  • kaotron

alright ufotable, I hope you do as good as a job as you did with zero and not mess up like those guys in the ’06 adaption…

    • mike dickson

never forget fate stay night 2006

      • Ferrick

        always forget Tsuk*****e 2003

        • Alexandra Cordes

          This cannot be upvoted enough.

        • mike dickson

          Lol

        • Juan Andrés Valencia

To be fair, does anyone remember the horrifyingly hilarious sex scenes in the VN? http://whynasu.tumblr.com/ (Slightly NSFW)

          • Servant BerserCAR

            …You lost me.

          • Juan Andrés Valencia

Those are lines from the Tsukihime VN during the h-scenes. Trust me, the adaptation is far from the worst thing about Tsukihime (Although it’s still pretty bad).

          • Servant BerserCAR

Lol. Looks like you miss the joke, bro. XD
            http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/jam-it-in-you-lost-me

          • Juan Andrés Valencia

Wow, somehow, the hentai doujin is less erotic than the sex scenes written by Nasu. That’s QUITE the accomplishment.

        • luckgandor

You can’t forget something that never existed.

          • Ferrick

            what existed?

    • greeeed

I find it find specially since he didn’t die even when he got stab on heart ( he stay for while without one before Rin find him)
yet he is still alive and kicking

      • J_Joestar

well that screen is always taken out of context anyways…

      • natchu96

And to think if Rin didn’t save him then Archer would never have been summoned, and the one badass in the game would be gone.

In the rest of Fate though, he had Avalon. It’s literally a noble phantasm that exists to prevent people from dying when killed.

        • Wait what

          The “one” badass?
Excuse me, but Gilgamesh is always a badass.

          • natchu96

He rates more “Pure Awesome” to me than any other kind of awesome (badass being one of them), but I guess XD

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/xxHiryuuxx Kaleido-Ruby

      Yes. Yes, they do.

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

      That’s a screw up, it’s a Japanese Idiom.

    • Juan Andrés Valencia

I’ve started hating the anime but that line is also in the VN. It’s better written but it’s still horrendous.

  • J_Joestar

at least there is nothing as jarring as short-skirt Arc’s redesign.

    • Alexandra Cordes

Am I the only one who likes Arcueid’s redesigned clothes?

      • Laith Rem

Most just sort of go along with it. Only the Vocal Minority is still hating on it.

        • shuyai

i think the remake design looks better too but i dont if it is the long skirt make Arcueid appear more mature or the whole new drawing style, but the new design looks like what Arcueid’s younger sister would look like

          • Alexandra Cordes

Oh, I see what you mean.
The way I see it is that they updated her look to match the times. Back in the nineties, when Tsukihime was being created, longer skirts like that were the norm.
            These days… not so much.
She’s adorable no matter what she’s wearing, though. X3

      • OtoriGolden

I’m alright with it, we always have the original.

  • Alexandra Cordes

I just hope they aren’t doing the Fate route again.

    • mike dickson

what route do you mean specifically ?

      • Alexandra Cordes

What route do I want to see or what route do I not want to see?
I’m fine with Tohsaka or Sakura’s routes being animated.
Saber already got the old anime, and Shirou stays pretty useless throughout it.
Just my very unpopular non-Saber-loving opinion.

        • Ferrick

i’m pretty sure that heaven’s feel would be the least likely route to be animated from the three, unless if they decide to censor and alter alot of things

          • Alexandra Cordes

It sure would be glorious, though, wouldn’t it?
Heaven’s Feel is the closest in tone to Zero so maybe…
But since they had to censor quite a few things from Zero’s adaption, I can see what you mean.

          • Ferrick

yeah… until the section with corrupted berserker, shirou was really a dick at that situation lol

          • kaotron

imo, HF is probably the best route out of the 3, i wanted a heaven feel adaption right after playing the VN.

the fate/ubw route kinda felt too shonen-ish to be taken as seriously as zero.

          • Alexandra Cordes

Indeed, indeed. The only bad thing is that I’m not a huge Sakura fan, but I can put that aside in favor of a great narrative.

        • mike dickson

Lol I’m with u on the non saber love there but I don’t think they’ll do rin’s route again I mean it got the movie treatment

          • Alexandra Cordes

Yeah, though the movie was rushed to infinity.
Trying to shove a visual novel’s plot into an anime is already hard enough, but a movie?
Oh well, at least Tohsaka got to look glorious.

          • J_Joestar

she would look even more glorious wielding a certain jeweled blade/sword…

      • kaotron

the ’06 version did the fate route, while there was a movie for the UBW route, and most of the nasu/fate fans probaby want a heavens feel route but I have no idea what ufotable will do with the three options. they’ll either do one, do all separately or combine them like the poorly drawn manga adaption..

        • mike dickson

Dear god the manga was that bad ? Hopefully they make the heavens feel arc I want to see that one

        • J_Joestar

well 06 also pulls in aspects of the other routes too just to tease fans (and probably that they originally didn’t expect to ever animate the others i’m guessing).

  • Roberto

    New shirou look cool
    i love

  • artemisthemp

I still prefer Fate Stay/Night over all other Fate except Fate Illya, due to the fact that Illya is treat better than in Fate Unlimited Blade Works or Zero

    • natchu96

Frankly I think Prisma Illya was their best attempt at animating Archer’s fighting style so far.

And Illya being a normal girl with really extreme closet otaku tendencies is hilarious.

  • Elizabeth ‘Ely’ Moreno

That corruption in Saber… are we having HF? (Personally, I hope we get a new route instead of adapting one, it just doesn’t feel… right…)

  • Vash bane

so remake as in basically the same as the series but HD? i’m sorry (lol in advance) i’m no super fan of this series and I don’t have the patience for the VN (for no VN in fact….only played a few lol) so the only thing I ever fully watched was the movie and I heard about the routes thing…never really got into (as in there’s a uploader on youtube that has the entire game up) nor the tv series.

so I guess this would be cool

  • xe7en

Now if only they fleshed rider here more. I know this is a remake on the fate route not HF, but I heard nasu is incorporating (?) some new elements to align the transition from the dark atmosphere of fate zero. Time to show the character some much needed love.

  • Yan Zhao

    Hype~

  • Kenyah

    Super hype!

  • s07195

Seriously though, has Type-Moon released anything not related to Tsukihime or Fate in some way, in the past few years? Like a new cast in a new setting (with some connecting points as usual), etc. I’m not a follower so I’m not sure, but all I hear about is Fate/Extra, CCC, Fate/Zero, Fate/Stay Night new anime version, Tsukihime remake, Mahou Tsukai no Yoru…

Oh yeah, there’s Kara no Kyoukai too, but it seems it’s the same case there. >.>

EDIT: I guess a comparison point would be the Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, Robotic;Notes, Occultic;Nine series. Steins;Gate did get an anime and movie, and several dozen ports and spinoffs, but they eventually did move on to Robotic;Notes, if you see what I mean.

    • Revyatheworldeater .

I believe Type-moon is involved with World Conquest: Zveda Plot (believe setting/scripts, but not Nasu) as well as they were involved with Canaan (Nasu helped with the setting/script, Takeuichi did the character designs).

      • DyLaN

At the very least OKSG and Meteo Hoshizora are involved in the series composition. There also the Sekai Seifuku spin off LN that are advertised along with Fire Girl (another T-M LN).

    • Laith Rem

Mahoyo is not related to Fate and Tsukihime tho. It has some ties to Tsuki yes, but it’s not considered part of that side of the franchise.

Also some light novels called DDD.

    • DyLaN

      I think you forgot Fate/Apocrypha or Fate/Prototype.

      There also:

Fire Girl LN, Tsuki no Sango manga and Girls Work anime (supposingly the script/plot is done, but there no news for the anime atm).

    • InvestedInYourFuture

No because everything Type Moon does is in same multiverse so everything is related in one way or the other.

  • https://www.youtube.com/user/BaoZakeruga BaoZakeruga

Guys, people die when they are killed.

  • Jormangund

    *twitches*
I’m replaying the VN. Hopefully, that’ll keep all the volatile hype building up within me from bursting free.

  • DyLaN

Btw, Nasu involvement with the new F/SN is (said to be) the same like he did back in the old F/SN anime so take it however you want.

  • ken abe

did any1 notice all the singing in the background as the servants fought ^^

i hope they add a plot twist near the end of this new show!
