By Ishaan . March 25, 2014 . 11:45am

The official website for the new Fate/Stay Night anime series by ufotable has been updated with a list of the show’s production staff. Judging by the list, it looks like most of the original voice actors behind the major characters will be returning to their roles.

Here’s the list of main characters with their voice-actors:

  • Shirou Emiya: Noriaki Sugiyama
  • Saber: Ayako Kawasumi
  • Rin Tohsaka: Kana Ueda
  • Archer: Junichi Suwabe
  • Sakura Matou: Noriko Shitaya
  • Illyasviel von Einzbern: Mai Kadowaki
  • Lancer: Nobutoshi Canna
  • Taiga Fujimara: Miki Itou
  • Kirei Kotomine: Jouji Nakata
  • Kiritsugu Emiya: Rikiya Koyama

The series will be directed by Fate/Zero anime director Takahiro Miura. Character design will be handled by Tomonori Sudou, Hisayuki Tabata and Atsushi Ikariya. As detailed in a prior report, the production staff are working closely with Type-Moon’s Kinoko Nasu, who has been present every time the show’s writers meet, to provide background information, which will be incorporated into the series.

Nasu himself stated that viewers would like be seeing “a different side” of the Fate/Stay Night saga when the show begins airing this fall.

I believe in nasu… As well as the current director and ufotable to do justice with the series this time around.

  • Ecchi Pantsu

    We need a Tsukihime animu

    • OtoriGolden

      Give it time…

    • But we have that as an–[shot]

      • Ni ~Algidus~

I’m on the side of the little to no people who liked Shingetsutan. Actually it was Shingetsutan Tsukihime that turned me into this type-moon enthusiast of today

        • It’s really one of those things you’re either really going to like or really going to hate, depending on a lot of things and how you were introduced to the Nasuverse in general. If this is your first foray, you might very well like it. If this is after you’ve read the VNs and things of that nature, you’re probably going to be on the opposite end.

          • Ni ~Algidus~

I watched it before knowing about the novels. I really liked Arcueid, the tone and ending of the anime had striked me really hard because my young self was a ecchi/harem/yuri moron. then I read the novel i started to think about the mess they did with the anime but it was still alright for me.
And yeah. If you read/play the novel and watch the anime adaption after it you’ll be more likely to dislike the anime (this happened with F/SN in my case).

          • Honestly the initial F/SN anime isn’t much better in that regard and easily pales in comparison to the VN but really it’s one of those things that if you don’t really have the time for you can kinda get an idea of where it’s headed…so at least you have that.

At least UBW was a decently done OVA.

          • Ni ~Algidus~

I never whatched UBW OVA so I can’t say much. that time the UBW OVA was announced and released I was starting to play Melty Blood in a competitive level so I ended up missing it. but dat dolphins

          • I’d say it’s worth a watch. It’s not but a short bit of one’s evening to watch since it’s movie-length.

          • doubleO7

UBW wasn’t adapted into an OVA, it was a theatrical movie.

          • Ni ~Algidus~

            you get it :p

          • I checked just now, that is right…I keep saying it’s an OVA when it really isn’t. Still, it may as well be.

        • kaotron

I really like the fate series but I never really got a chance to read the original VN(since it’s anime adaption was awful).

the only thing I know about tsukihhime is from the carnival phantasm specials..

          • Ah yes, Final Dead Lancer.

Of course, that’s more of a F/SN reference than Tsukihime. I’d tell you get either and have a ball. F/SN with the PS2 audio add-ons in particular if you can locate a legitimate patch for it. Mirror Moon should have it if I recall. It’s been so long for me.

I think all routes it took me about 4 total days in front of a screen to get it all done for F/SN. That should give you an idea.

          • kaotron

thanks, I already have the vn on both pc and even have a psp version but I keep procrastinating with it…

Btw, I’m not so sure but I heard rumor about a remake VN for tsukihime, do you know anything about it?

          • See below, but it is true – they are working on a remake to debut sometime in the near future.

          • Ni ~Algidus~

even carnival phantasm were more Fate focused so i would say for you to read the tsukihime VN since the tsukihime events in CP are a mess since it includes people from Melty Blood which do not have a connection with original VN and and aren’t all that great. And as I have said i liked the anime adaption of tsukihime and it made me read the VN and I was amazed at how much better it was. awful anime adaption for me would be F/SN ny DEEN.
I would say for you to wait for the Tsukihime remake but not even akasha knows when nasu will complete it. so go plat the vanilla with the mirror moon translation

Also Lancer is a Fate reference not a Tsukihime.

            HIKARU GENJI is a

          • kaotron

yeah, i also read the manga which was just as bad as the animation(just like FSN’s manga), I guess I really should just read the VN and get it over with..

yeah the ’06 adaption of FSN was pretty bad too, I know alot of people who found out about it because of fate/zero and were seriously disappointed.

BTW, since everyone in the nasuverse is connected do you think is shiki’s power around servant tier or higher?

          • Ni ~Algidus~

Not everyone on Nasuverse is connect. for excemple the original Type-moon (Crimson Moon) story is on a universe where the earth is pretty much devasted, Kara No Kyoukai occurs in a time line where the events of Tsukihime never happened, Tsuki no Sango or Tsukihime 3000 probably are on the same universe as kara no Kyoukai since it’s set on a universe where the events of tsukihime never happened vut we do not have much information about it. Fate Extra is a totally different universe from the one of F/Z and F/SN.
in the subject of if shiki can kill servants (you did it in purpose didn’t you? :p)
it depends on what shiki we’re talking about. Ryougi, Shiki or SHIKI. Tyougi can win in the third personality mode but only if the servant is fighting in a defensive way. The other Shikis can NOT kill a servant since they don’t comprehend the existence of the servants.

edit: Also in the whole nasuverse only few people can fight servants directly these being Aozaki Aoko, Kishima Kouma and the members of the Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors. Arcueid will always win in a 1 on 1 battle but she will fall if two or more go all out on her. Ciel (like Ryougi Shiki in third personality mode) can only fight if the servant is in a defensive mode otherwise she’ll be killed.

edit 2: fuck that why I tend to keep way from TM discussion threads. I can’t control myself.
There’s a beign that can pretty wreck havoc both servants and dead apostles, it would be the Primate Murder that thing is like if Marvel created a level 8 beign. it is on its own level

          • kaotron

yeah, extra seemed more like an uncanon spin-off game to the series and yeah, the servant thing was a reference joke.

btw, I tried watching the kNk ova’s the animation was really good this time but the order of the ova’s are kinda jumbled and it seems like it was made more for people who’ve already read the light novel. fate/zero had an hour long intro episode with nothing but explanations/exposition and character intros so it but Knk instantly went into magi babble the moment it started.

It’s just like the UBW ova because it assumes that you’re already familiar with the universe, back story and characters and tries to force as much event in a 50 minute episode.

          • Ni ~Algidus~

            >yeah, extra seemed more like an uncanon spin-off game

nothing is nasuverse is uncanon everyting is canon.

I liked the way the movies from were ordered it was like watching Haruhi 06 and liked confusing stuff that you go “WTF did my dvds have the wrong order of episodes”. I don’t why, but like watching it that so I can thing on what is happening in the past while watching the episode that is two years on the future and some references.

Well I never expect anime adaption from long games or franchise like the type moon ones. It worked on Zero because it was a adaption of prequel light novel that ended up with added content in it to make the whole 26 episodes. F/SN can easily clock up to 80 hours of gameplay. they always do the anime and movies more to promote the damn thing.

let’s take Kyoukai senjou no Horizon for exemple. twelve episodes season (3 or so hours).but each season is a adaptation of two or three books that have 800 to 1200 pages each. alot of stuff will be left cut or they will just throw it at your face expecting that you go buy and read the the Grimoires

          • kaotron

yeah, it’s harder to adapt a 80 hour VN with multiple endings with a huge fanbase with unrealistic expectations than a short 4 volume series of books.

yeah, I usually scroll through baka-tsuki and I saw that kyoukai horizon’s LN is insanely long. Shorter light novels like to aru majutsu index, log horizon, tsukaima and sword art online get translated pretty fast by the groups but horizon is at 2B(for some reason their novel have 2 or 3 volume for each volume number)

          • Time Sage

You forgot Bazett. She’s the only human with a noble phantasm.

  • doubleO7

Hmm, no Gilgamesh or RIder listed as main characters…

    • Laith Rem

Kerry was announced. Kerry doesn’t really appear in Stay Night. Don’t try to guess just by announcements.

      • César H. Sandoval

Isn’t he a constant source of “Must become a hero!” flashbacks for Shirou’s backstory, tho?

        • Laith Rem

It’s the convo from the end of Zero so they have the audio already.

          • César H. Sandoval

Right, Maybe they will give him more insight as Shirou’s foster dad, trying to tie this series to F/Z more for the previous viewers and all.

    • DyLaN

Usually the VAs frm the game return for the anime anyway unless they are sick/pregnant/etc like LB! anime.

    • César H. Sandoval

Rider doesn’t talk that much and Gil is supossed to be a secret boss kind of character lol.

      • MrTyrant

If take something of Heaven Feel she will get an important role.

        • César H. Sandoval

Yeah, but like Gil it will take a while to get there, so maybe that’s why they’re aren’t promoting their seiyuus yet.

  • Makoto Yuki

“Nasu himself stated that viewers would like be seeing “a different side” of the Fate/Stay Night saga when the show begins airing this fall.”

    So.. Heaven’s Feel ?

    • César H. Sandoval

      Or the canceled Illya’s route…

      • ken abe

        illya waai~

maybe this time she will become prism illya! XD

    • Altin

Heaven’s Feel is not a different view for people who already played the VN though. Besides that, I’d totally love to see HF getting animated for those glorious fight scenes.

    • Ni ~Algidus~

      F/SN RomCom ~Dark Breakfast~

    • InvestedInYourFuture

That’s in reference to previous anime.

The different view means additional information beyond the VN content.

  • Ni ~Algidus~

Also, let’s see what this original route has to offer. ah, the new costumes and character designs are good but i was expecting more since they said that would make the characters wears clothes more related to today fashion

    • persona_yuji

      Perhaps after this is over?

      • Ni ~Algidus~

I hope. they can promote the remake with a new decent anime. but I don’t think this will ever happen. more likely that they will wait for release of the Tsukihime remake and after it make a anime of it

        • César H. Sandoval

Ufotable loves TypeMoon, after KnK and Fate, hoping for some Tsukihime love would be a realistic goal I believe.

Unless they animate Girls Work and adapt Witch on the Holy Night first lol.

          • Ni ~Algidus~

If they adapt mahoyo then i’ll stop my rant :v
            Aoko is just that awesome

  • Aleister Crowley

You know what I love about Fate?
Wanna add a new route? Go ahead. Due to the route system, it’s just a parallel world. Nasu can pretty much add whatever he wants and it’s impossible to ruin other routes. Just don’t add Saber Alter. We all know how that went…

    • kaotron

it’d be nice if they could show some of the bad endings but that might end up kinda weird..

      • César H. Sandoval

I’m a Saber fanboy and still wanna see Alter animated, badends and all, bring on Sparks Liner High!

        • kaotron

yeah, that was my favorite bad end, I also want to see the “mind of steel” ending too but if they show multiple endings I hope they lay off the dark morbid ones(especially the worm related ones)

  • DanteJones

You can’t put Suwabe and Canna in the same production together. You just… can’t. What am I supposed to do when their voices melt my pants off.

    • César H. Sandoval

      Enjoy it.

  • Total_Overdose

From this list, everyone from the original F/SN and F/Z is coming back. I’m pleased.

  • Ric Vazquez

Hypetrain coming through! Get hype and get onboard!

  • Servant BerserCAR

Looks like they gonna change Berserker’s VA. Oh wait…

    • César H. Sandoval

New guy will have to learn how to yell: 「████████!!」

  • Alex Webber

Speaking of Fate it would be lovely to have Fate Extra CCC come over… :(

  • I am really looking forward to this! I’m eager to see what Nasu is intending to deliver on “a different side”.

  • David García Abril

I still have to play the VN…

Damn! This moving to the UK had the worst timing ever… lol

    • César H. Sandoval

Find the time and play it, best month ever Il tell ya, it is worth it specially if you have a voiced version.

  • Ahong D Harits

continue from season 1 or other version ?
