Atlus have shipped over 350,000 copies of Persona 4: Golden in Japan, including download sales, Famitsu reports.

In celebration of the milestone, they’re discounting the Japanese version of the game on PSN. From April 8th to May 6th, the download version of Persona 4: Golden will be discounted from 6,151 yen to 4,890 yen.

Back in December, Atlus announced that Persona 4: Golden had shipped over 700,000 copies worldwide, including download sales of the game.

Persona is the only JRPG series that gets me excited any more, so I’m glad it’s doing so well. I have high hopes for Persona 5.

Also, obligatory begging for Persona 3 -insert subtitle- for Vita, please.

    • Kaetsu

      Persona 3 Platinum!

          *also faints*

  • MyBodyIsReady

Best game i’ve played in years. Roll on Persona 5!

  • Lemski07

after playing this one. never been better. but havent finished it :P but finished the anime lol

    • MyBodyIsReady

      Dem spoilers tho

  • urbanscholar

    That’s a lot of men/women/young/old swooning over Yu <3

  • Jungo

I love this game… but due to an accident with my Vita, my 80+ hour save file got deleted, and playing it again just makes me sad.

    • Kamakuma

I know the pain… Ever sense though I invested in Plus to keep my save files safe as I was traumatized for a good while until I got my feet back on the ground in recovery. t–t (80+ as well.)

    • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

You don’t need to invest in PS+ in order to backup your PSV game savefiles~.

      • xXDGFXx

But you do if you want to “access” your save files~

        … fix it, sony…

        • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Actually, no. You can use Content Manager to backup everything to your PC. It’s been even easier for quite a while now since you can do it through Wifi~.

          • xXDGFXx

Actually, yes. You have no access to your save files.

  • JonathanisPrimus

Yet the only thing Atlus has for in development for Vita is a rhythm spinoff …

    • xzeldax3

The only thing ANNOUNCED is P4D (which is going to be an awesome game btw). They don’t really have anything else Persona related to release for the Vita anyway. I guess they could do a re-release of P3 and combine P3P stuff with P3Fes, but I doubt they’ll do that for a while. And Persona 5 definitely won’t be put on Vita (or Vita 2) until P5 is like 4+ years old.
SMT seems to be exclusive to DS/3DS for now. Maybe we will see a SMT and All-Stars Racing lol.

      • JonathanisPrimus

Why does Persona Q have to be exclusive to 3DS? Where is Arena on Vita? What about a Catherine port? A new Growlanser? Where’s P3Definitive?

        • Revolver Jesus Super Pimp

Catherine would be nice maybe a remake

        • xzeldax3

Well about PQ, it’s obvious because its basically a modified version of Etrian Odyssey. A Catherine port would be amazing, but it was used with that Gamebryo engine and it seems like Atlus doesn’t have the money/manpower to port it. Plus, I doubt many people would buy it now when they can get it cheap on their 360/ps3. Catherine 2, on the other hand, maybe.

I wanted Arena on my Vita soooooo bad but there is zero chance now :/ I thought for sure they would because BlazBlue was on Vita.

      • Albert Calderon

Watch Atlus announce SMT stuff next year for the Vita.

        • xzeldax3

That would be awesome if I jinxed myself! More SMT=more happiness.

          • Albert Calderon

I would be so hyped for some Digital Devil Saga ports or a new stand alone game. That would be so rad

        • JonathanisPrimus

Atlus actually announced that a non-Persona SMT would be coming to Vita in those generic pre-launch support lists. But they also said the same about the PS3 … in 2005.

          • Albert Calderon

Yeah they did that for Nintendo and Sony. The thing is a lot idiots think that Atlus is a big studio. They have probably have 3 small teams that are busy on either Persona or SMT. They make games on tight budgets.

Persona 4 Dancing- Dingo or w/e is working on it, not Atlus, Atlus is probably just overlooking the project
            Persona 5- In house Team
Persona 4 Suplex Hold- Arc Systems with again Atlus overlooking the project
            Persona Q- EO team
SMTxFE- Nintendo is working on it but all signs are pointing to it being a trashed game.

This leaves one in house Atlus team working on something we don’t know and it’s probably something SMT related. Close to Persona 5′s release or a bit after we should hear something about the next SMT mainline or spin off game.
I can’t help but to think that they will give the Vita some SMT love.

          • Abel_Nightroad

“SMTxFE- Nintendo is working on it but all signs are pointing to it being a trashed game.”

What the hell are you talking about ?

    • tubers

Yeah. I wanted another full fledged RGP entry from P4/P3 on the VITA.. not just a rhythm game..

      ATLUS is such a tease.

“Hey we’re doing X numbers of P4:G RPG! Here ya go a new dance game!”

  • subsamuel01

Just imagining an HD Persona 5 on PS3, can’t wait.

  • Suriel Cruz

And today Person 4 PS2 Classic was release in PSN. Yeah! I love Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series… any ‘Shin Megami Tensei’ related game actually.
    ^ ^

  • Jindan

Persona 4 golden is one of the best games I ever played, and it deserves its sales. I hope future persona games would be also on ps vita and ps3 so we can enjoy this sweetness :)

  • DarkLight

Funny cause I’m playing P4G right now.Quick question, who did you guys enter a relationship with?I went with Rise and Marie.

    • Saphiren

      Chie. Fsteak ftw.

    • Sean ‘Geg’ Reddie

The only girl in Persona you should be dating, the lovely Chie. :P

    • SerendipityX

      Friendzoned everyone *evil laugh*

      • Zero_Destiny

They’re young, they needed that in order to prepare them for later. >:D

  • Earthjolly

I hope this will make atlus release an exclusive persona game for vita

  • Izzeltrioum

P4G, your days are counted! Just wait for Ao no Kiseki Evolution to beat the crap out of you as the best Vita JRPG.

And goddammit please Atlus PLEASE give Meguro a rest. I’M TIRED OF HIS LAZY RAUNCHY ROCK AND JPOP since forever.

Before everyone obliterate me to Oblivion, It’s just my unpopular opinion that I’m biased towards to.

    Peace,

    *looks through comments*

no one’s posted this already? really?

    well then, allow me:

  • Ric Vazquez

I dedicate this to all Shin Megami Tensei/Persona fans XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHFy3YWpRx8

  • Abysswalker90

Persona IS popular. PS Vita, not so much.

  • Dinoegg96

The game was released almost two years ago, I think it’s normal.

  • JonathanisPrimus

Persona 4: Golden launched on Vita in June 2012. How many non-mainstream RPGs accomplish 50k nearly two years after release?

  • JonathanisPrimus

“I thought everyone initially bought a Vita for, hasn’t sold as much as Vita units sold in Japan. The attach rate isn’t as high as I had thought, that’s all.”

That’s an unrealistic expectation. Very few games have huge attach rates unless they’re bundled.

  • JonathanisPrimus

The best selling Persona game in Japan is the first one on PSone at 400k. Persona 4 on PS2 did 300k. Yeah, I’m sure Vita hurt the game … *rolleyes*

  • Albert Calderon

lawl P4G sold the most on Vita than any other platform. Get your facts straight. I bet you’re probably thinking 3DS would sell more? I’ll talk to you again after PQ sales numbers pop up

  • Zero_Destiny

@Thatguy @Abel_Nightroad I believe Jose meant trashed as more of a sense that “the game was probably silently canceled” then talking about its quality.

The less then stealer sales of the Wii U and the long absence of any news does make for a worrying case, though I don’t think it’s canned just yet, personally.

Also, let’s not try to label anyone ether, alright. :)

  • Abel_Nightroad

“The less then stealer sales of the Wii U and the long absence of any news does make for a worrying case, though I don’t think it’s canned just yet, personally.”

I just want to know what he means by “signs”. I agree with you, no communication doesn’t mean that the game is cancelled. Fire Emblem Awakening is an old game now and i don’t think that Intelligent Systems is sitting doing nothing. The state of the Wii U means that they can’t afford to cancel one game. Also it’s a first party title.
