Check Out All This Awesome Artwork From Bayonetta Developer PlatinumGames

By Ishaan . April 25, 2014 . 10:00am

PlatinumGames have updated their development blog with various pieces of art created by their artists in their free time. You can view the entire set on this page, but we’ve highlighted some of the ones that caught our eye below. Included beneath each piece are the name of the artist, time taken for the piece, and other comments from the studio.

Title: “Cargo Ship”

Comment: Speed painting – 2 hours 30 minutes.

Check out this ship with the Platinum logo on it! This art makes me imagine that our company’s office is actually a giant starship exploring alien worlds with Mr. Minami at the helm.

Title: “Uma (Horse)”

Comment: A carriage horse is riding in a rickshaw drawn by a man.

This horse is getting the royal treatment in this image commemorating 2014, the year of the horse! I just love the character in this piece.

Title: “Stay!”

Comment: “Three… two… wan.” [Note: “wan” is the sound a dog makes in Japanese.]

Here’s another dog with a “one”-related pun! This kind of joke was prevalent in the office with the release of The Wonderful 101.

You can find the rest of the artwork at the PlatinumGames blog.

I like the sci-fi art one of their artist made. Especially this:

Just all of a sudden, I wanted to see a spiritual-sequel of Vanquish from them.

But you know, I would love to see a horror-themed action game or a more calm, colorful adventure game from them.

A MechWarrior game would be good too. They couldn’t possibly produce something worse then MWO… :?

  • Wow I hope some of these show up in a future game.

Wow, that wolf, reminds of P* earlier work when P* were known as Clover Studio, yes that legendary game, Okami. Could that artwork be related to some sort of spirital successor…
