Sega’s Dragon Coins Has Some Neat Monster Art

Sega released a new game for iOS and Android that’s a mish-mash of genres this morning. Dragon Coins is a free-to-play monster-collecting game combined with coin dozer mechanics.

In Dragon Coins, you place coins on the moving platform to charge monsters up for attacks. Positioning your coins smartly will allow you to pull off combos, and Sega say there are “hundreds” of monsters to choose from. Some of the monster art actually looks rather nice.

You can also swap monsters with your friends and participating in regular boss raid events. A trailer for Dragon Coins can be viewed above.

This is easily the most boring looking tweak on the p&d formula

Feels like they’re trying to hide the pay2win within the ‘gameplay’ (such that it isn’t) too.

This is one of the better PAD wannabe games on the Android market place. Been playing for a few days and it quite enjoyable. There is some strategy in where placing your coin. Also, sometimes you’re better off not placing a coin and letting the coins earn from fallen enemies do the work. My only complaint is if you get a game over Sega wants you to pay up 100 rainbow coins. Rainbow coins are hard to come by, so you have to pay up for RC or just grind it out.

My new mobile obsession, there’s something about dozens of coins falling into your monsters’ slots that is just so satisfying.
