Charizard’s Final Smash In Super Smash Bros. Is Mega Charizard X

Recommended Videos

Charizard’s side-special in the new Super Smash Bros. game is Flare Blitz. Director Masahiro Sakurai explained on Miiverse: “It’s a very powerful attack—however, you’ll take recoil damage if you make contact. Pretty true to the original game, huh?

Sakurai added, “Flare Blitz is Charizard’s side special move, and Rock Smash is the down special move.”

Then, in a follow-up comment, Sakurai revealed that Charizard’s Final Smash is one of his Mega Evolutions from Pokémon X/Y, Mega Charizard X.

Sakurai did not say whether or not his other Mega Evolution, Mega Charizard Y, will be in the game as well.
