Elminage Gothic Coming To The West On PC

By Ishaan . May 22, 2014 . 11:01am

Ghostlight are bringing dungeon crawler Elminage Gothic to PC via Steam, the publisher announced this morning. Originally released by Starfish SD on PSP and then Nintendo 3DS, the game will be available in the West for the first time, as neither the PSP nor 3DS versions were translated.

Ghostlight are currently in the early stages of translating the game. They’re also working with Starfish to increase the resolution of the original artwork and add features to the PC version, such as mouse-and-keyboard support and Steam Trading Cards.

Note that the screenshot above is a work in progress, and doesn’t represent the final translation you’ll get when Elminage Gothic is released.

Ghostlight hope to have Elminage Gothic ready in time for a Summer release.

I’ve been wanting to play the PSP game for quite a while now, guess I’ll just wait for this!

YEEESSSS! Will this have all of the same features as the 3DS(?) version that allows you to take your own pictures and use them as avatars of your party members?

Since porting to the PC is a possibility, perhaps Ghostlight will do the same for Agarest Marriage.

Looks sort of like Wizardry? That is to say, looks right up my alley!

  • So, since this is an Elminage title, I would like to request from any journalist on this site to ask “Ghostlight” the important question about this Updated Re-release:

“Will this Steam version get the ability to Import Images and Music, like in most of the previous titles?”

I can understand that since this is a PC version, modding is just the answer to every question. But support added by the developers to streamline customization is more than appreciated. Especially so BECAUSE it is a PC version, that it shouldn’t have the same engine used for the 3DS and PSP in regards of image import.

Steam Workshop support would be great.

Edit: I asked Ghostlight and Ross Brierly responded, “At the moment it doesn’t look likely that we’ll be able to include this feature.”

Guess modding will be the only option.

The most exciting part is that some other forgotten PSP games might get translated. PSP had a TON of untranslated gems.

Shiiiiit, the absolute best Wizardry clone. Can’t wait.

I hope you still have the option to create original characters with custom artwork…
