I do want to buy Toukiden, loved the demo, but then they announced Extreme, so I guess I’ll hold out until it’s certain if we’ll get that version of the game here on the west.

something is wrong here : as of March 31st, 2015

check the calendar….it’s 2016 already. *mind trip music plays*

Really? Where the hell is my Mighty No. 9 then :V

Ishaan can see into the future! Although I don’t think 550,000 copies shipped by then would be so good D:

As of March 31 2015…Oh no that means that they won’t sell half a million until next year. Lol silly Ishaan attempting to predict the future in the present.

      • Satori Satya

Yeah, they actually expect to ship that many units during the current fiscal year (which ends on March 31, 2015).

So it wasn’t just Ishaan making a prediction here.

Open the presentation (listed in article), Slide 15.

Due to the placement of the statement “New “TOUKIDEN” IP became a 550,000 units hit” directly below a chart that projects the Fiscal 2014 earnings (aka, Mar 31, ’15) it’s a bit ambiguous as to whether 550k has already been sold, or whether it’s a next-year projection.

Good of Toukiden, it deserves it :)

Well the art above looked pretty nice.

“Shipped” is still different from copies sold, right? Though Toukiden did sold well in Japan which is why it’s now TK’s new franchise.

    • Jadfish

yes, shipped is indeed different to copies sold.
Expect copies sold to be less than shipped copies, if we are talking purely physical versions of the game (obviously).
It’s a quick little way for companies to inflate their numbers to the press these days. I’m sure that Toukiden did extremely well though.

I want this game I just bought a Vita but I might wait for extreme to get an announcement of if it is coming to the US or not.

    • Jadfish

I have it and I love it, but you should wait for Extreme. Really.

I bought Soul Sacrifice on release last year and played it furiously. Then I bought Delta a couple of weeks ago and was blown back at how much better it was.
So I think it’s a good idea to wait for the “G”-editions(MH reference) of these Hunting style games, unless you buy the first edition near release.

I’m 100% sure that Freedom Wars will get a “G”-edition too.
I’m honestly fine with it, though I can see people feeling ripped off a bit with these yearly upgrades that contain everything from the first edition + a bunch of extra stuff and polished mechanics (Delta has a better resolution and framerate…. that’s nuts)

  • QueenDecim

Game seemed alright from the demo, but the camera was kinda not so good. All these hunting games need a further Zoomed out camera, especially monster hunter where the camera position is either too high or too low

  • azariosays

    oh good for them :)

  • KuroNathan

wow, for a hunting game that isn’t monster hunter that’s really good. Does anyone know how this stacks up against others in the genre? Like SS and GE2
