Nintendo Reveal Their Full Plans And Timings For E3

By Ishaan . June 3, 2014 . 9:32am

Nintendo have shared further details regarding their plans at E3. As previously reported, Nintendo’s E3 presence will consist of three main events—the Nintendo Digital Event, the Super Smash Bros. Invitational tournament and their “Live at E3” event.

In addition to the aforementioned events, Nintendo will also conduct two separate developer roundtables during E3, one for Super Smash Bros. and for a new Nintendo 3DS game that hasn’t been revealed yet.

Here are the timings for how all of these events will play out:

Nintendo Digital Event – June 10th at 9:00 AM PT

Games for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U “in 2014 and beyond”.

Super Smash Bros. Invitational  – June 10th at 4:00 PM PT

Super Smash Bros. tournament.

Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3 – June 10th – June 12th

Nintendo’s Treehouse product development team live-streaming game demos from the E3 show floor. Timings for the event are as follows:

  • June 10th – 11:35 AM – 4: 00 PM
  • June 11th – 9:15 AM – 6:00 PM
  • June 12th – 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Nintendo Developer Discussion #1 (Press only)

June 10th at 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM PT

This event is a Super Smash Bros. presentation followed by a Q&A with director Masahiro Sakurai. It appears Nintendo do not plan to stream this event. Siliconera will be at the event, though, and will report news from it.

Nintendo Developer Discussion #2 (Press only)

June 11th at 6:00 – 7:30 PM PT

A presentation and Q&A session for a “new game for Nintendo 3DS”. No streaming announced for this event either. Siliconera will be at this event, too.

All of Nintendo’s main E3 events can be viewed at their E3 website.

  • NeptuniasBeard

At the risk of sounding like a major fanboy, my E3 focus this year will be almost entirely on Nintendo. Not that the others won’t have anything good, but I can pretty much predict what their presentations are going to consist of. Nintendo, after this rough year, seem like the only ones that can wow me. Can’t wait until next week!

    • I feel the same way. When it comes to first & second party games Nintendo in my eyes have way more to offer.

      • Brion Valkerion

Because… its all they have to offer lol.

        • As far as the Wii U goes yes, 3ds gets a bit of everything. Could careless about Sony or MS first party games. Both are strictly third party to me and the only reason to own a PS4 or X1.

          • idrawrobots

3DS isn’t getting anything from Western developers except Skylanders and licensed garbage. And Mama games.

          • ronin4life

I thought the mama games were japanese?

          • In what way does that affect the 3ds? It already has a great line up this yr.

          • Colin Tosh

And what exactly has the Vita gotten besides Borderlands 2 (from western developers)? Haters talk like Nintendo is barren but handhelds have always had by far the best third party support with Nintendo.

People just don’t point it out because it is cool to trash Nintendo for support. EA has been as cruel to Vita as they were to Wii U.

          • Symbol de Au

I’m pretty sure he was trashing Western developers.

          • Fox

The Vita isn’t exactly a success story, ya know.

        • Spirit Macardi

More that 3rd party devs are whining babies that complain the system is too hard to develop for, meanwhile indie devs are churning out games for it with no problem.

          • Attribule

Because the vast majority of indie games are simple to make, period, and don’t require much to begin with.

3rd party devs actually have legitimate reasons to not develop for Wii U, but if it makes you feel better you can go ahead and keep believing “they just don’t want to durrr”.

        • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

nope. They get exclusives games from Japanese publishers.

When you think of third party for Nintendo. It suppose to be Japanese publishers why. They were the one who help make NES and SNES successful. It was never western third parties. That was til Playstation took most.

But you can say some western third parties had a success on N64. As majority of the Third Party support were western that was til Xbox came in and they left.

Which is why now Nintendo formed a collaboration with Atlus, Capcom, Sega, Namco, Tecmo KOEI and funded Platinum Games’s titles

    • subsamuel01

I have to agree with you that Nintendo will be my most anticipated E3. The Wii U has literally no more games besides Transformer`s with a known release date.

    • Yan Zhao

Im hype for Smash and Hyrule Warriors more than anything else E3 has to offer.

    • Slickyslacker

Yeah, I have to concur. There’s little I’m looking forward to most that Nintendo isn’t presenting…or should be presenting.

I’m getting even more hyped for Smash, and especially Zeldo U, which is practically confirmed. Miyamoto has something up his sleeve, too…

I’d like to know what the hell the treehouse has been doing, this whole time.

      • keithmaxx

Zeldo? Hyrule had a prince, too? Hmm… Or is that a Hyrule game where you look for that well-hidden character with glasses?

        • Slickyslacker

Zelda’s long lost brother in a striped green shirt, of course!

          • keithmaxx

And he hides so well we didn’t know he existed… until now! Damn, nice work Nintendo.

    • 하세요

I own at least one system from every company and this year I really, really only care for what Nintendo has to offer. You ain’t alone there.

      • Satori Satya

Well I am interested in that “epic new mystery PS4 game” that is in the works from Capcom.

But I have to agree, that I’m a bit hyped over seeing something from the new Zelda U.

Last time around, Aonuma said that he was going to show the game at this year’s E3.

Who doesn’t want a lil’ peek at the new Zelda?

        • Guest

          EDIT: Never mind. x_x

        • Lilburrito

He truly deserves the Triforce of Courage! Not even Ganon would step that far! The Hero of Time has proven himself!

        • Slickyslacker

Disclaimer: Nintendo EAD Software Development Group No. 3 does not promote sexual relations between minors.

          • Satori Satya

            Sexual relations? LOL ok….

I guess America Ferrara is going to have Vitalii Sediuk’s baby. He did peek under her dress at the Cannes Film Festival.

    • mojack411

I am in the exact same boat. I think this year, more than any year previous, Nintendo has the greatest potential to simply blow everyone out of the water. An unnanounced 3DS game that will have a whole round-table to itself is pretty much a guarantee hit and Zelda U is all but confirmed to be showcased in some shape or form. add that to more information on X and SMT x FE and other unnanounced titles (most likely) my hype factor cannot be contained!

It’s a shame I’ll be taking a physics test while the Digital Even is airing though :(

    • idrawrobots

      Mine too.

    • Kaetsu

Same here. The only non-Nintendo game I care about that I know will be at E3 is Triad Wars and maybe Battlefront as long as EA doesn’t mess it up.

EDIT: Forgot about Persona. I’m really looking forward to seeing that.

      • That guy

Friend…it’s EA. Battlefront will have micro transactions, bugs and glitches and a whole lot of DLC 10$ for 1 map because it’s EA.

      • Slickyslacker

        Hee ho!

    • Fox

Me too, but it doesnt sound like they’re gonna do much more than they did last year, so my expectations are fairly low.

  • DizzyGear

I really hope they will finally announce a release date for SMT IV for the EU at E3.

    • Amagidyne

Same. That’s literally all I care about for Nintendo’s E3. A release date or just for someone to ask about it and get information.

  • Pizzor

Goddamnit, why does my training on Tuesday have to begin at 9? Why not 10, or 11? :'( Oh well, at least I can watch it all afterwards.

    • Tylor Boreas Makimoto

Well, it’s twelve on the east coast, so you might be done by then.

Unless you’re on the west, in which case, oh well.

      • Pizzor

        Indeed I am. Oh well.

  • MAJORAS MASK! T-T Just still hoping

  • TheRealMalek

A conference on a new 3ds game ? Intriging… I’m quite sure it’s no Mario nor zelda and i’m really hoping for a new IP.

    • Invisbin

They did say they were maKing a new ip…hm..

  • Roger

06/10 – Dragon Quest VII 3DS Announcement Day
Hope is the last to die, lol

  • 하세요

I’m really excited to watch this tournament. Seeing these characters in action from real players is better than any gameplay trailers.

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Hoping for Golden Sun and Mario Strikers Recharged both 3DS.

  • Samsara09

NIntendo, you just caught my attention. This Treehouse is promising!

  • Kornelious

Man there is so much coming from Nintendo, Sony and other developers……This is gonna be an EPIC E3! :D

  • John Pena

All I care about from Nintendo, is X and DQ VII. The rest is a plus!

  • jugss

I want more newcomers for Super Smash Bros. and more Pokemon Ruby info.

  • That “new game for Nintendo 3DS” seems like a real big announcement. Getting excited now. Although just a DQ localization will be enough for me.

    • J_Joestar

hoping it is that Monolith title they were supposed to be recruiting for last year.

      • You know, I almost forgot about that until the E3 announcements. Crossing my fingers with you!

  • fairysun

Here’s for Smash and hopefully … a new Zelda game for Wii U!

    • Samsara09

I think zelda WIIU is a given. They will announce it!I am 90% sure.

  • J_Joestar

hoping for some details on this.
they mentioned “unannounced 3DS title” right?

    • I really, really would not get my hopes up for this. I don’t know if Monolith Soft were ever working on an original 3DS title. It looks as though Monolith Kyoto has mainly been assisting with the development of other games.

  • Raltrios

  • Mika Moreno

Based on Twitch’s schedule, Nintendo is going to reveal 4 games, and then there’s all this! I really think Nintendo will be able to pull themselves out of this slump with everything they’re doing! :D

  • Invisbin

Calling it now, Zelda Wii U, True Mario Wii U, Pokken Fighters Wii U, Detective Pikachu for 3ds :D

  • Lemon

I hope there’ll be new information about X and SMT x FE. Especially the latter.

  • E.T.993

    X!X!Xses!I WANT X!

  • I want “X”. Give me more news.

Actually, I’m more hyped for X than FFXV.

Xenoblade Chronicles was a PERFECT game, truly a JRPG. I’m sure FFXV won’t be able to do the same thing than this one, or X.

  • Rasputing

I really wish I didn’t have to work next week, I’ll miss all the hype of seeing this real time.

  • Bobby Jennings

You know what would be great? If they announced a region free update or something along those lines.

There are too many JPN games I want to buy, but I’m not going out to buy another 3DS..

Looking forward to E3 for all of them honestly. Now that the Next-Gen systems are out the way, it’s time for the games.

    • Suicunesol

Which Japanese games are you looking to buy?

      • Bobby Jennings

E.X Troopers, Attack on Titan, and that Tales game that’s about to release.

        • Be cool if we got Youkai Watch 1 & 2 as well.

          • Bobby Jennings

Thanks for reminding me! At least if they aren’t going to localize it, Nintendo should just do what Xbox 360 once did and re-release the games as region-free titles.

      • Bobby Jennings

        Also Gaist Crusher.

  • VenerableSage

An hour and a half for just a new 3DS game? That’s an extremely long time to talk about one game that will just be getting revealed. This has got to be something on the level of a Miyamoto project (which I would find hard to be the exact case, given that he’s basically overseeing projects instead of running them, IIRC) where it’s getting announced, has an entire section on its background, and a demo reel + developer commentary and questions.

  • Egil

Monolith soft x , bravely second, the unrevealed game, hyrule warriors, pokemon alpha and omega, smash, zelda… and the list goes on

  • Tenabrus

excited to see what they’ll be announcing and showing off for 3DS since I’m planning to buy one that week unless they announce some ubercool limited edition that I’ll wait for.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    I can/t hardly wait!/…..AHHH

    • Symbol de Au

Turi needs to calm down. Well maybe not. I enjoy the confusion.

    • Calem, what does the Pokedex say about his sucking level?

  • Ric Vazquez

I’m just hoping that the games I’m looking forward to get release date announcements.

  • PreyMantis

I’m calling it: new Metroid, new Zelda, new Pokemon, new game from Miyamoto.

    • 3PointDecoupage

New Zelda confirmed, new Pokemon…Sapphire remake was announced so I think no.
New Metroid: maybe. New IP, doubt it.

  • Kamen Rider Rayz

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night 2 please. Thank you. But I ain’t gonna put my hopes higher for this.

    • Didn’t the metroidvania main dev quit Konami?

      • Kamen Rider Rayz

Yes he quit. But that doesn’t mean Castlevania is dead.

        • Well, the metroidvania canon might as well be, I can see more LoS Castlevania games coming of which it’s cool for those who enjoyed those Castlevania games.

          • Kamen Rider Rayz

But thank God Mercurysteam is finally done with Castlevania. No more rebootvanias. Perhaps they are going back to its original roots and found a new developer for a new Castlevania games.

  • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Nintendo is going to dominate this E3 just because the other two won’t be having anything to show. It’s about the games, and at least when it comes to first party stuff, they know what they are doing~.

  • Ktynn

Well, there’s been a leaked full schedule showing that Nintendo is going to announce 4 new exclusives!

I predict it’s about Pokken Fighters, Metroid, Zelda, and SOMETHING CRAY CRAY

    • MaidKillua

I saw a claimed leak a while back saying there was going to be a Metroid 3DS announcement, though it could have easily been false, if it turns out to be true that would be amazing. It’s pretty likely that Zelda for Wii U will be showing up too

      • Ktynn
        • CozyAndWarm

Personally I wouldn’t trust these leaks (especially from Kotaku of all things). These false “leaks” happen every year.

          • MaidKillua

Yeah I never pay any attention to Kotaku. I can’t remember where I saw the leaks I mentioned but i’m definitely remaining skeptical regardless. Optimistically skeptical of course, as a Metroid game for 3DS would be fantastic

          • Ktynn

            apparantly they were right :)

we had that unannounced kirby game, the new Zelda, splatoon, steam (3DS) and that mario maker (not to mention the starfox announcement for Wii U and miyamoto prototypes :))

I did really miss out on Pokken Fighters and Metroid :(

  • Anyone remember that ‘secret’ game that gamefreak teased a few months back? that could be finally shown at this years E3, also.

  • Benjamin Tyler

Here’s to that game not seriously being localized as only Hyrule Warriors
