God Eater 2’s Ciel Gets A New Figurine

By Ishaan . June 8, 2014 . 2:02pm

God Eater 2’s Ciel Alencon is getting a new statue figurine from the Good Smile Company. The 1/8th scale figure has posing with her God Arc weapon in Predator form, although the package also includes its Blade form, should you want to switch. She’s available for pre-order now and further details can be found here.

    I hope GE2 gets a us/eu release

  • Dystopiq

I want to like this figure but that pose is really making my OCD flare up.

  • Luis Camargo

I am surprised that Namco still hasn’t spoke anything about a potential US/EUR release for God Eater 2. I hope that they are waiting to release a “complete edition” instead of the vanilla one and then have to update everything.

Namco has been on a roll lately, I don’t think they will dissapoint with this.

    • Aristides

      Let’s hope they don’t.

  • Ereek

    She’s gorgeous, but holy hell she’s expensive for a 1/8. That’s a 1/7 price, usually.

  • 無尽合体ブランタコブスキ

    hi eirei :3

  • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owl

Whoa…the detail is really nice. I forgot that I was planning on importing God Eater 2 awhile back…but budget limits, of course, got into the way.

  • Aegis XI

Alisa and now Ciel…? So delicious X_X

  • Joshua Myers

    Want it XD

  • Afternoon Intergalactic

She reminds me of Edy from Valkyria Chronicles, minus the giant sword. I still have yet to beat Gods Eater Burst (my launch PSP finally died a few months ago), but maybe I’ll borrow a friends’ to prepare myself for a localization.

  • Raltrios

The details are fantastic, but I don’t think human bodies are supposed to twist that far…

    • TheBlackRabbit

      looks fine to me ;D

    • Wappuli

Sure they can, this particular pose isn’t too hard at all.

  • Wow that’s gorgeous! It has such expression to it. Definitely gonna have to pick this one up. Good Smile always makes me smile lol =^_^=

  • TheCynicalReaper

Kind of grim to sell a figure of a cute girl’s corpse having been twisted in half and sent flying…

Or, wait, is that supposed to be her running and looking back? Because, for all the detail put into this, you’d think the sculptor would have a basic understanding of human anatomy.

    • Shippoyasha

It’s a figurine, not an anatomy lesson. I don’t get people who go into that line of thinking at all. Just unnecessary antagonism.

      • TheCynicalReaper

Fair enough. It’s just kind of upsetting to see a figure with SO much attention to detail taken and such a greatly done face to be mired by a distorted pose that snaps the spine. I mean, look at it. It’s gorgeous from every angle, except that one vital flaw of the pose.

Why did they ruin such an otherwise perfect figure? The frills, the godeater mouth, the shading and color use and the sculpting down to the FINGERS have been amazingly done, and yet that pose ruins it.

It’s like someone ran in while the artist was turned away for a second and just twisted the mold around for a laugh. It’s just awful to see something so amazing ruined like that.

        • Shippoyasha

To be fair, it’s meant to be pure fantasy. Real people don’t have anime eyes and hair either. I can understand the gripe but I think it looks nice precisely because of how outlandish it is.

Plus, it looks like she is running and spinning. So she is not even supposed to be ‘standing in place’ as it were.

I just think it’s unfair to say the artist doesn’t know anatomy. It looks like a stylistic decision to push boundaries. And it looks great to me personally. The artist could as well have made a ‘safer’ pose to appeal the anatomy more, but I am glad they took the chance. I have a thing for figurines in movement these days.

        • Romancer Ecclesia

If SHAFT can do it, then anyone can. :3

          • Harvey Tejada Loto

            haha yeah

      • Diarek

Gotta agree with TheCynicalReaper here. I not a big criticism on anatomy on a figurine of all things. But when you looks at such perfect work, the erroneous detail of her pose become much more glaring. If they make her stand on her left leg, sideway, it would have changed virtually nothing on her upper body and no one would complaint about spines anymore

        • Shippoyasha

Yeah. It’d be the safer choice to make her look more grounded. I guess this is just the risk figurines make when making a dynamic pose like that. Not to mention anatomy becomes more pronounced when turning a 2D drawing into 3D. I get where the critique comes from even though I think she looks fine as an anime styled character to push the anatomy. I am sure artists can make anatomically correct versions if they choose though. You have to go through learning the science of proportions before you make the style choice to forego realism.

          • PoweredByHentai

The correct answer is to look at JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures.

If your pose doesn’t make your spine hate you, then you are doing it wrong.

          • Shippoyasha

I keep trying in vain to do the JoJo poses. Until I realize I am seriously hurting. heh

    • AlphaSixNine

Hmm… Maybe it’s just me but I can’t see what’s wrong with the pose. It doesn’t look weird or impossible, probably hard if you’re not flexible enough. It’ll most likely hurt if one stays in that pose for too long though, but I think the idea here is a figure of a person that’s supposed to be in motion. So in reality she shouldn’t be staying in the pose for too long, probably just a split second or two then moves to a more stable pose.

Heck I can do this pose… for a bit since it’s hard to maintain standing still. But since this is a figure statue…

    • Wappuli

There isn’t really anything anatomic-wise impossible about that pose.
If a person can’t twist that much, I’d say that they have some serious problems in their spine.

  • Kornelious

Man she is beautiful! <3 this makes me want God Eater 2 even more…..Come on Bamco….I should also make a mental note to pick her up whenever I get into Figure collecting.

  • konsama

Damn this figurine looks so freaking nice.

  • Namuro

Boy… I didn’t even notice her handgun in that one picture, like until a while later…

  • Shadow Rebirth

everytime i saw God Eater 2 related articles, i thought about the localization. But NOPE…..

  • MSJ

gsc figure, looks great, will order one soon.
god eater 2 us release, bamco pls.

there’s also a 1/8 scale devil homura one from GSC as well for anyone interested in it.
