Nathan Drake Looks A Bit Older In Uncharted 4 For PlayStation 4

By Sato . June 9, 2014 . 7:58pm

To conclude today’s events at E3, Sony ended their press conference with a short trailer and reveal of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4. Watch it below.

The trailer shows an older Nathan Drake, who looks quite beat-up, and seems to be getting told by Sully about the dangers of his next plan. While the Uncharted series protagonist has been out of the game (his adventures) for a while, he asks his old friend to help him out “one last time”.

Uncharted 4 is currently in development for PlayStation 4.

Such a disappointing presentation from Sony.

Nothing new for Vita, everything was leaked beforhands. No Last Guardian. Nothing.

They wasted so much time on TV bullshit instead.

    • Kami nii

I feel you I was disappointed too other than Uncharted..Nothing for Vita I thought Gravity Rush 2 was coming :(

      • goa ahsd

Gravity Rush 2 is still in development…. it never disappeared. these games arent gonna show new footage each time at e3
        or all events -___-.

    • I mean, I sat down and watched the whole thing and it was more like 30% TV stuff, 70% gaming related.

      • LDM

Can’t please everyone as they say.

        • Nesther

But you can try not to completely fuck it up by doing the exact same thing that your main competitor was bashed to hell and back for last year.

          • LDM

I thought their presentation was pretty well done. Than again, it’s only my opinion. They did show a diverse library of genres than just generic-FPS. I guess that what made me feel pleased what they showed this year.

          • Nanaki

I felt they expected more then what they received. There were many instances of awkward pauses in the conferences, and I’m not talking about only through the attempts at cracking a joke. I enjoy watching Andrew, but he had huge shoes to fill after Jack departed.
I felt they did good. Nothing surprisingly spectacular, but nothing to say that I’m not interested in seeing what they have in store to come. I’ll gladly play my Uncharted 4, Little Big Planet 3 and No Man’s Sky with a smile on my face.

          • Those unfuny jokes kept piling on… ugh.

          • But they didn’t…?

Okay, they talked about Playstation TV, the Powers show, Ustream/Twitch stuff, YouTube, and a few more.

I honestly think that the lack of Vita/ Lost Guardian information is what you’re really angry about. That every moment you expected them to give new info on these things, it was TV stuff instead, stemming your outrage from there.

I am by no means a PS fanboy, the conference was underwhelming from a personal POV, but I cannot agree that the conference was mostly gaming. I just can’t.

          • Nesther

Yeah they totally didnt waste our time with TV shows. Or is it only a disaster when Microsoft talks multimedia?

          • It’s a disaster when the focal point of the whole presentation is media. And that was not what Sony did. Please don’t be so quick to label me as Playstation fanboy.

I may prefer Sony over Microsoft, but the internet’s rage fueling, hate-spewing arguments force me to think before I type something that make me look like one.

I’m a fan. Not a fanboy. And I disagree with the notion that Sony focused their efforts on the media side.

Even when I think about it– if my opponent did something that got him flak, would I ever do it hoping to slide off on it? That’s stupid.

          • Nesther

Don’t take me too serious mate. I’m just venting a bit because I set my expecations high and felt Sony didn’t deliver.

I just hoped they had some genuine surprises like last time with XV, KH3 etc, but yeah.

          • Same here, though you do know SE’s conference is on Wed and Thursday right?

As for the conference ,the only REALLY good parts were Uncharted and Batman. I feel like Sony is slowly giving up on Vita as a strong competitive handheld, despite what they say.

I’m not gonna lie, I was genuinely interested in Powers, but that was the only “media” excitement. It was a whelming conference, imo.

          • Nanaki

You and many others set the expectation bar real high. That is to be expected at events like this though. Venting shouldn’t be an excuse for coming across the way folks do at the end of the day.

    • JoJo_718

They spent close to 20 minutes in that stupid series no one even cares about, when they could’ve show some good new games coming for the Vita this year, so disappointing.

    • kaotron

I cant believe they made the same mistake as microsoft…

People don’t care for an “all-in-one” social network tv box, they buy gaming consoles to well…GAME.

    • goa ahsd

well Sony is more than just gaming and E3 is just a big press conference. plus the majority of their divisions are working on IPs, which many aren’t complete and don’t come out for a long time. so dont rush things. plus PS is a true media device, allowing gamers to do many things so gotta explain what that stuff is. all this new content is big

    • I’m in the same boat. Sony did the theater thing and they even have a PS4 app for it, you would expect something huge. Well it was, but nothing we don’t already know. LBP3 was the biggest reveal that cane out of nowhere. The Powers thing was the lowest of the low, it didn’t even need to be there. And theres too many indies for my taste.

  • Kami nii

    My Body Was Not Ready

  • TreizeX

    He looks younger to me

    • midgard229

      those eye wrinkles though

  • Heisst

I had my face against the screen from how sure I was that it was going to be The Last Guardian…then Naughty Dog’s logo appeared and I just left the room in disgust.

  • Kornelious

Nate does look a bit older…i wonder if this will be the final uncharted game being called “Thief’s End” and all…..

    • Nanaki

I fairly positive that’s what they hinted at. That, or the death of a character considering the truly last event of a thief’s motif.
I’d say it would open up nicely to a living legacy, perhaps a child character?

      • Kornelious

I sure hope it’s not the end, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see….
Either way, this is likely gonna be the best Uncharted yet! :D

  • Namuro

Hey, finally, there’s a game titled 4 for the PS4!

  • Ren Yuumei

That’s a look of a man who’s getting to old for this shit.

  • I’ll get it,

But wasnt impressed with golden abyss

    • Shippoyasha

Well, wasn’t Golden Abyss done by a whole another studio?

      • Jacob

        And a prequel.

  • No one is really going point out that he looks a LITTLE like Liam Neeson.

  • This trailer gave me the chills. Makes me think what if their luck finally runs out.

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

      Yeah seriously

  • fairysun

All right ! We’ll see how’s Uncharted fare after Naughty Dogs lost several key members.
