Muramasa Rebirth’s Final Two DLC Episodes Are Still In Development

By Ishaan . June 13, 2014 . 3:00pm

If you’ve played Muramasa Rebirth on the PS Vita, you’ll know that Marvelous AQL have released two DLC episodes for the game, both of which have been released in the West.

However, you may recall that there were actually supposed to be four DLC episodes for the game in total, and two of them haven’t been released yet. Speaking with Siliconera at E3, Marvelous producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto confirmed that these are still in development.

The third and fourth Muramasa Rebirth DLC episodes are currently in the process of being finished up, and will be released soon in Japan.

I am still amazed on how they used the traditional asian art to work in the game.

    • Muramasa Rebirth 100% needs to be included in any discussion on unique and beautiful art styles for video games.

Its a Japanese game… Asians are Japanese.. I wouldn’t be surprise if American used traditional European or African art style in their games..

      • Derek E Nay

I know… I don’t know the difference the traditional artwork of China/Japanese and I didn’t want to assume. So I thought I should say Asian since it’s more of a board term.

  • Firion Hope

Awesome, the first two were great. Would love more.

  • Jaeger Knighty

    About time! I was really worried they wouldn’t come out ;-;

  • Somebodyissilent

Got the one about the cat girl on sale and loved it.

  • Darkwing7

  • Göran Isacson

Not that surprised. Considering the time these guys spend on art, I can believe it takes a couple of months to “draw” up one of these episodes. The one that’s left is the Oni girl and… what was the last one, now? Some kind of blacksmith, right?

    • NegativeZero

The third one is a ninja and the last one is an Oni girl. The blacksmith-like one you’re thinking of is the farmer from the second one.

I didn’t really like the second DLC but the first one was pretty good.

      • Göran Isacson

Aah, right. Have they given any hints what the ninja and Oni girls stories will be like?

  • RagingTiger44

Phew. I almost thought they were forgotten. I shall continue to wait patiently.

  • Ric Vazquez

And we will get it soon after Japan gets it :D

  • buddyluv324

Nice to hear that they are working on the last two DLC! Cant wait!

  • Onizuka Gio Hikari

I recently just bought a Vita and Muramasa Rebirth will be my first game I buy! The original on Wii is one of my favorite games ever lol Can’t wait to get these DLC episodes! ^-^

  • ShinNeoGranzon

Hurry up and release the ninja so I can play as him, destroy everything, and then finally let go off this game. I loved this game, but I’ve beat the game and got all the ending multiple times and now the game is just collecting dust

  • Duc PC-QB

Thats great but I hope to see new IP from Vanillaware soon.

  • z_merquise

That was very typical for Vanillaware to take a long while to release something. But that’s what makes them special because it’s very, very rare to be so dedicated in high-def, hand-drawn 2D games like they do.

  • Kornelious

Wow, it’s almost been a year since the game has released X(

Though I’m sure it will be worth the wait, the other two DLC’s were awesome so I’m sure these to are gonna be amazing :D

  • MaximDualBlade

The only dlc I look info about every month since the 2nd one was released XD They were really fun

  • Hexodious

I’m only interested in the third DLC episode, the last two were rather boring, in my opinion.

  • midgard229

too bad the game wasnt that fun. i was really let down. it was beautiful but the it didnt even compare to odin sphere. odin sphere had a great story and gameplay. this game had 2 characters that played the same.

still want them to make more stuff though

    • Skeptika Crediblus

Obviously you haven’t played the DLC. That’s where the gameplay really takes off.

      • midgard229

ofcourse not. the entirety of the main game was too stale, so i didnt bother.

        • Skeptika Crediblus

Oh well. You’re really shorting yourself.

      • Sayorain

To be honest the Nekomata DLC was just frustrating with some of its bosses.

        Especially the fucking Tanooki boss…

        • Skeptika Crediblus

He was a pain in the ass, as was the samurai at the end. Just as with the two MC’s you really have to mother your special abilities until the perfect opportunity comes to unload them. It helps to have the accessory equipped that allows you to digest food quickly, and load up on the big HP-restoring food (that you can cook).

The only thing I don’t like the whole boss-rush thing they do. I’m really getting tired of running through it in Bravely Default. Might just skip that in the last chapter…

  • Martian Wong

Will they release a complete edition which all 4 dlc to be included?

  • d19xx

Awesome level of dedication right there…

  • Hector Velar

    Take your time guys.
