See How You Switch Characters Mid-Combo In Anima: Gate of Memories

Action RPG Anima: Gate of Memories is a week away from reaching the end of its Kickstarter campaign, and the game’s developers have shared a new video that highlights its combo system.

The video shows how you can switch between Anima’s two characters on-the-fly in the midst of combat, and even in the middle of a combo. You can watch it above.

Anima: Gate of Memories is in development for PC, Wii U, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Just can’t help but think it all looks a bit bland. From the combos to the sound effects, it just doesn’t look like it’d feel satisfying.

I agree; though it did say it’s still in development, hopefully it will improve later on because right now the game looks “bland” as you said.

    • For some reason this really reminds me of Castlevania 64, sound effect wise. (which is never a good game to be compared to!)
The combos look stiff but otherwise good, though. :)

The character designs and art kinda remember me of Rusty Hearts.

  • Kornelious

Looks pretty fun, if a little bland but I’m sure that’s because it’s still in development….
I really hope it reaches it’s goal, I would love to play this on the PS4 :)

  • ooooh wii u version eh? Sign me up. :D

Hmmm. The artwork on the kickstarter page is rather lovely for the game. The music also fits the setting. I’m kind of surprised at myself because I don’t overall “like” this style of art for people but here, in this game, I do.
I really also like the story of this game and for the characters.

My only pet peeves are the graphics seem kind of “old” like early PS2-ish. The Bearer/Ego/enemy people also move very stiffly, its just very weird looking, she looks like she has rubber flappy arms when running …. and the sound effects for “magic” and “physical attack” sound the same, it would be nice if each character had a different sound for their attacks.

The sound effects are just bad sounding.

I am actually tempted to back this game, though.

This all sounds a whole lot like NieR (and Drakengard, kinda). Main char has a book as companion. Made a pact with it and it took her name. She uses the book’s pages as weapons.

woah that sounds cool I didn’t know that thanks :)
it indeed looks like a interesting game (for the love of….. I’ve ben saying that word for a while now lol)

      reminded me of neir too.

I hope they have a soundtrack option when it’s released in steam. I have backed way too many kickstarters atm. Need to ease off a bit but seriously looking forward to this game.
