  • Time Sage

is NISA in this remake? She was one of main reasons I took an intrest in the series. I’ll be rather disaponted if she didn’t make the cut

    • DesmaX

      she’s not

  • http://s1.zetaboards.com/Espada_of_Alexandria/index/ konpon568

None of this is important. All I want to know is if this version will have Texture Mods support. That’s it.

    • nick_54g

      sadly i doubt it

      • Tyler Beale

But it’ll be in the new PS4 game!

….Oh wait, Sony hasn’t even added multimedia support yet…

  • TheGioG

Thank you, sweet Jesus for the recent job acquisitions. Just got to wait out payday, guys. I can already taste that PS Vita, and this game is gonna be a fine addition as the first game in my soon-to-be Vita library.

    • Randgriz

You gunna buy a PS4 soon? Nep-nep on PS4 imagine that!

      • TheGioG

Oh right, Neptunia Victory II on the PS4. If it gets itself a localization announcement in the coming months, I don’t see why not.

  • Shippoyasha

    Oh my god. Download only.

    • Brandonmkii

      Not for this filthy American!

  • Firion Hope

I was just wondering about this, yay. That’s still so far away though :(

    • Learii

the more farther the game released the more money you make right or saving?

  • http://danierc-polloconpapas.tumblr.com/ Eduardo Rocha

Nice :3 Now all I need to know is Tales of Hearts R, Persona Q and Persona Arena’s release date so I can finally pre-order games without worrying if I’ll have the money when they come out :3

  • Vash bane

so the battle system is similar to VP(like its turn based but the game also has some strategy setting up your character having them attack all at ounce or having one attack at time, selecting special attacks from a mini in-game window)?

    • Landale

Not really, judging by the description you’re giving of whatever you’re asking about.
The characters only attack together for certain EXE attacks, which have their own conditions beyond simply having enough of the gauge filled. Specifically the characters either need to be all in the active party or one active and one her support and they all have to be in the same form at the same time. There’s not really any sort of minigame to the combat either.

      • Vash bane

im sorry I didn’t mean mini game I meant in-game menu like you hit triangle in the middle of combat to select a skill.

        • Landale

Something like that I suppose. It’s one button to start the attack, followed up by up to three buttons to do attacks of different types, then one last button to do a finisher if you’ve got the EXE gauge filled up enough for them.

  • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

I only wish there was a limited edition :(

But I’m picking this one up! :)

    • Tyler Beale

Japan only got a wrist strap (I think?) and a drama CD, so besides the box art, it’s no real loss.

Also picking this up, but can’t decide if I should buy digital to support IFI, or buy physical for the box art…

      • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

That’s no big loss than if that is all Japan got.

As for your choice? I normally go for my territory exclusive for support like what I’ll do for Sword Art Online as a download vs. importing. The artwork does look cute though and I always prefer a physical option. Also, depends on your Vita card space…they can be expensive O.O

  • Jimmy Bump

Poor Europe download only. That must really suck seeing a new game then getting the release date to be told that its download only. Well at least they are still getting some form of it.

  • Smooosh

Pretty cool, that’s not that far away from now! I personally wont get it myself, not interested enough to justify getting a new memory card or deal with all the switching around when my card is filled with stuff I use on a regular basis, but that’s just me. :d

  • Demeanor

PSN is perfectly fine to this eu citizen, my house is getting overrun with game cases and I love being able to play immediately upon release (I usually buy online from uk or usa or jpn).
    Late August so, huh?

    • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

Exactly. I’ll buy it when drops in price; picked up P4G when it was on sale and now I have it there whenever I want to play it and then being able to play physical releases without needing to continuously switch games.

    • darke

I bought three physical VIta carts before I remembered that I hated swapping and keeping track of the DS’s physical carts. Been getting digital only on Vita since then to preserve my sanity. :P

  • アティ

    Nuff’ said. :3

    • ShinNeoGranzon

Who’s the guy in the second pic and what anime?

      • アティ

        Sadao Maou from ‘Hataraku Maou-sama!’

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

    This news pleases me =^_^=

  • SlickRoach

I’ve always wanted to get into this but heard the early ones were mediocre at best. Is this a good one to start, and is it a remake of the first game?

    • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

It takes the improvements made in Victory and the story is different to the original IIRC, I never played the original so I can’t be sure.

    • http://myanimelist.net/profile/chibuki chibuki

This is certainly the game you want to start with. The very first game from 2010 game had a lot to grief about and the story wasn’t even set in the canonical Neptunia universe. Re;Birth1 have a lot of the improvements made over time, plus some new features, more characters (albeit losing the old ones), and rewritten story with new voice overs.

    • God

It’s complicated, the original was awesome in things like plot, jokes, references, characters, etc. and the Mk.II had a better gameplay, but paled in comparision to the first one in everything else. Victory was a huge improvement over the second, but didn’t quite reach the original in everything else (except soundtrack, maybe). This is a remake of the first, and appearently a lot has been changed, so it’s kind of a wild card, while the gameplay will obviously be superior to the original, it may be worse in eveything else.

  • http://myanimelist.net/profile/chibuki chibuki

I’ve seen several retailers have the same date already. Did IFI finally make a press release recently?

Anywho, glad it’s finally dated, at the same time it’s kind of let down a bit for me. Just two days ago I asked IFI if there will be an LE for the North American release. They said they don’t have an answer yet as they’re in the middle of possibly going with an LE. If the release date is announced then I suppose there goes the chance of an LE. Will be placing my preorder soon.

  • SupaPhly

no biggie, I’ll just import the US version…
I just hope they let NISA handle the other games like V-2 and U

    • http://myanimelist.net/profile/chibuki chibuki

At the moment I feel the same. IFI is still a new branch with unstable budget but they’ll grow in time and hopefully be able to handle physical releases for multiple regions and even limited editions. Need teamwork to localize all these Nep games!

    • Shady Shariest

Hopefully the new EU store helps importing to some extent, too :/

  • TheManWithPants

Guess I’ll buy a PS TV so I can play this on my TV. Don’t really do much portable gaming outside my home these days.

    • http://amc9988.deviantart.com/ amc99

you better check first if the game if compatible with vita tv

      • darke

The JP versions are compatible with the Vita TV, so they should be fine as well.

That’s assuming the non-Japanese version of the Vita TV has been released by then, since I don’t recall that Sony has enabled non-JP accounts to login to the JP version yet.

      • TheManWithPants

I checked, and the Japanese version is, at least.

  • Zoozbuh

It was a mistake not getting a bigger memory card with my Vita… All these digital-only anouncements for Europe are annoying. Oh well, at least I can import this one, unlike 3DS games.

    • Eejhat Wahs

It’s gonna release physically as well in the west

      • Zoozbuh

…Not in Europe. I live in the UK (England), where it’s digital-only.

        • Eejhat Wahs

          Oh sorry, that sucks

  • artemisthemp

Guess I won’t be playing must Xilla 2 now

  • Daniel Rossevelt

    … I guess i need to get a summer job :(

  • Kornelious

Jeez Isn’t there already enough games’s releasing in that time frame!? I already have…..

    Disgaea 4 Return
    Akiba’s Trip 2
    TALES OF XILLIA 2!
    Danganronpa 2
    Natural Doctrine

    Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
And maybe Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus and Arcana Hearts 3 Love Max!

And that’s just for August/September, And now this!?……..I already had to cage my wallet once X(………….Though who am I kidding, I will buy it and have no regret :P

    • darke

Look on the bright side, it’ll probably take a couple of months to finish Disgaea 4 Return, so if you get that you can probably buy the rest of them on the end of year holiday sales. ;)

    • mike dickson

i feel you buddy 2014 is the year of wallet destruction lol

  • KazukiNanbu

i hope the framerate is better than the ps3 games (original and mk2, i haven’t played Victory yet so i don’t know if that game have framerate issues)

  • Ren Yuumei

Damnit i really need a bigger memory card for my vita.

    • http://hanzoadam.tumblr.com/ Hanzoadam

I’ve pre-ordered the US retail version from play-asia as my 16Gb is getting full

  • Kayriss Wins

2 months baby, I played Victory and I’ve been looking forward to playing the the first game, also DAMN that’s a lot of screenshots lol

  • http://hanzoadam.tumblr.com/ Hanzoadam

I pre-ordered the US version from Play asia as I didnt want a digital version, Damn game’s been delayed twice since I pre-ordered it

  • Armageddon

    Truly a rebirth :D

  • Sentsuizan_93

Download only be damned, I’m still buying it.

  • pimpalicious

Okay. I’m ready to become a shut in for this game. Bye social life!

  • Skeptika Crediblus

  • AkiraScare

YAHOI! its all i can think wen i see nepnep jumping… its been burned into my mind (0_0)

  • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

How are they screwing us over? Any partnership deals/arrangements NISA had with European localisations wouldn’t apply to IFI they’ll have to set up their own deals, etc.

I rather the game come over, in a timely fashion, than not at all.

  • DizzyGear

NISA brought the neptunia games over in timely fashion (sometimes even a little sooner than NA) AND offered a Retail version.
So yeah in my eyes they are screwing us over with digital only instead of letting NISA handle the EU side of publishing like Atlus often does these days.

  • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

But IFI want to become more self-reliant. What’s wrong with that?

How will gain experience and learn to improve their localisation efforts if they don’t try to publish games in the EU themselves?

Not every company wants to deal with a middle man.

  • DizzyGear

NISA partnered with Tecmo Koei (Koei Tecmo?) before they started publishing in the EU themselves. IF could have the same.
Now the result is that IF left a pretty terrible first impression in the EU.
Its not cool to have all the PAL versions of the Neptunia games on your shelf and than being forced to import the latest one for your collection because IF insisted on self publishing and not bothering to look for an EU Publisher with the channels to release the game in Retail.

  • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

Why would it leave a “terrible first impression in the EU”? Digital distribution has been a very helpful form of supplying consumers with games that allows for lower risk and better profit margins.

I get that people love to have a retail version but why should a company be made to go beyond their means for people who feel entitled? NISA can only put in an offer to localise and IFI, as owners of the IP, they can refuse if they want to.

  • DizzyGear

It woud have been a differant story if it was digital only for both territory’s. But favouring NA with a retail version while the EU gets digital only just leaves the EU fans feeling like 2nd class costumers. Which is something that has been happening way too often this year. So no, favouring NA with retail is not doing their IF’s reputation in the EU much good.
And really dont see how it would be beyond their means to strike a publishing deal with an EU publishers since that publisher would be the one handling manufacturing, distribution etc.
In fact i think sales will be lower in the EU because fans will import and are unlikely to buy DLC due to the single account thing on Vita.

  • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

Idea Factory International is based in the States, so it would make sense, just like Atlus, to publish titles there.

Without having first-hand information of their finances, we can’t question what they can or can’t do for regions they have no presence in.

Striking deals aren’t things they do over 5 minutes. It takes time and has to be deal that is viable for both parties.

That has been the downside for importing titles to play on an account that isn’t the same from day 1. And since DLC is optional, so that point is moot. It wouldn’t make a difference if the game was bought and played on an account of the same region as it doesn’t change the number of downloads of any DLC.

This is my last post in this conversation.

  • DizzyGear

So? NISA is based in the states as well.
They had plenty of time to work out a deal before announcing the game in the west. And once again: NISA was already publishing their games over here for them before this one.
What i mean is that DLC makes them good money. Fans who import and dont play on an NA account cant buy the DLC. So in that regard they are missing money by not offering a retail version in the EU.

  • Landale

Drop it. The vast majority of your posts on this site have been nothing but complaining about how Europe gets games, often also attributing the methods to outright malice. It’s foolish and now it’s getting old.

  • DizzyGear

2014 has not exactly been a fine year for Europe and niche games with more and more titles going digital only that we have gotten as retail before like Drakengard, Blazblue and Neptunia and i doubt im the only one who is getting more than fed up with it. And not like the gaming media ever questions these publishers about this trend either.
And yes i did direct my complains to them but got nothing but canned answers so what other conclusion can i draw other than that these publishers do it to save a few bucks because the EU is not important enough fo them.
But if Siliconera can get better answers from these publishers and run an article on the topic im all ears.

  • Landale
  • DizzyGear

Somehow i always ended up at a half japanese half english corperate site when looking for their homepage so i missed that. But at least their apologising and promise to work on it which is more than most do. Now if they only price it right i’ll think much better of them.
