By Ishaan . June 30, 2014 . 11:31am

The Pokémon Company will kick off a live orchestral concert series, titled Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions, starting on August 15th, 2014. The concert will premiere at the Warner Theater in Washington, DC.

The second concert in the series will take place on September 19th at Philadelphia’s Mann Center for the Performing Arts. More dates and venues will be announced in the future, The Pokémon Company said.

Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions will reunite key creative personnel that helped put together Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda concert series, which was held to commemorate the franchise’s 25th anniversary. The concert will feature music from the mainline Pokémon RPGs, all the way up to X and Y.

Ticket information for the concert can be viewed here.

Huh? Pokemon isn’t really known for it’s soundtrack… sure, it has some nice tunes, but i don’t know if it’s enough to make a decent live symphonic event…

It looks and sounds like it might be cute, but beyond that… i dunno.

The tunes come with a ton of nostalgia, there are a few I think many fans will be pleased to hear.

I hope L.A. becomes the first-ever West Coast venue for the concert, especially when it has the Walt Disney Hall, just north of STAPLES Center.
