so is there gonna be a collectors edition? because just like FFX LE its not much, might as well go for a CE :)

  • harmonyworld

oh boy, a pin that I’ll never use~

    • chibidw

eBay. It has teh Mickeymaus on it so there’s always someone.

      • Vesperion

        Ebay can have my pin

    • Guest

Do people seriously look at the a artbook more than once?

      • harmonyworld

I would! But I am an artist, so it can be inspiring to me. Plus an artbook would just be an all around better more meaningful collectible.

  • Desk

  • Freud_Hater

Boy howdy, a pin?! That is so cool and definitely something useful and not a pointless knick knack to fake a limited edition!!

  • DragKudo

I never understood why we almost never get what Japan gets. At least I can give my non existent girlfriend the pin. :(

    • Rohan Kishibe

Probably the costs of translating the books, and importing them. Same for the figures. I’m assuming they can just slip the pin into the case and call it a day hahaha.

      • Grape Monet

That doesn’t explain why we don’t get the soundtracks.

    • I imagine because what Japan is getting is for their collector’s editions.

This is just a pre-order bonus.

  • chroma816

A pin! Wowee! It’s not like anyone wanted another cool artbook or anything. No siree.

  • Funnily, while yeah, for a lot of folks, this seems disappointing (but really we aren’t getting this game for the pre-order goodies), the fact that this pin will end up being an actual collector’s item is actually kinda neat.

I mean, people who collect these pins take this stuff pretty seriously. They pay through the nose to get rare ones, and pins themselves to buy individually are actually pretty expensive.

But overall, I just like seeing Disney acknowledge Kingdom Hearts, even a little bit. I still like that I managed to find a Hooded Mickey pin when was I last at Disney World.

  • XBalmung

I don’t get why people are so upset over getting something for free. It’s not like they had to give you anything at all for pre-ordering. Even if it’s just a pin, it’s still something.

    • DragKudo

So if they included mouse shit you’d be okay with that?
      I’m just sad

Also no one here is upset, well probably me.

      • XBalmung

Only if the mouse shit was from Mickey Mouse himself. =P

        • DragKudo

I was going to say Mickey’s shit but then i thought everyone would want that.

    • I think the problem is that people don’t uh. Understand the difference between the big Collector’s Editions that Japan is getting, and a pre-order bonus that we’re getting.

I mean, sure, they’d probably love to be able to buy those Collector’s Editions, but I feel like people are misunderstanding the differences here between what’s being offered in this, assuming that we should instead be getting what Japan is getting as a pre-order bonus.

    • Steven Higgins

I would RATHER not have gotten any kind of bonus than this. This is just an insult. Especially after the last one.

    • Lloyd Christmas

Perhaps, but c’mon dude, you have to admit this is a pretty… underwhelming incentive.

  • Kroz

What the hell, was hoping for an art book….
And if your gonna do an accessory type thing, at least make it a replica of one of the many key chains and necklaces type things you see all over this series.

    • idrawrobots

I am glad there is no integrated art book case!

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

“I don’t mean to toot my own horn but as a pro pin collector I must have that pin its worth more then any old art book!!!”….said the pin collector guy, tooting his horn made of pins.

  • Ecchi Pantsu

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

dammit your avatar is spot on

    • AuraGuyChris

Hmm, this pin may mean more than it lets on…

  • SerendipityX

    Not gonna lie, I really want that pin for my collection. It’s not lame! ;_;

    • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

What’s so lame about a pin? I still have my Mario coin when I got Mario Galaxy. ^_^

  • Kufuu

I hope it’s at least boxed like the KH1.5 LE and FFX LE. I hate it when boxes aren’t the same in a series. -_-

  • Kornelious

    ………..That’s it…….THAT’S IT!? >:(

Japan gets 6 different choices of bundles and collectors editions, and all we get is a FREAKING PIN!………I somehow blame Disney for this….I hope that Square has SOME form of a limited Edition for the US besides “THIS” (Or that stupid artbook case thing) :(

Though in hindsight, those re:Coded scenes look pretty cool, Looks like there will be some awesome battles! :D

    • Anime10121

As long as they dont actually SKIP the battles like they did in Days :/

That Xion scene was all kinds of disappointing how they handled it in 1.5 :(

      • DrShimo

It’s already been confirmed and shown in a trailer that there will be fight scenes.

  • flameraver64

…Why would anyone complain about this? It’s free…

    • CheesyBred

Because it’s a slap in the face in comparison to the Limited and Collectors editions available for Japan. They are able to get some special dual pack, or a collectors edition with a CD with tracks from 1.5 and 2.5, while America, and I assume Europe, as it has been announced so far, only get a pin. I feel let down as it stands that the survey they had a while back about if we wanted a collectors edition of the game, what would we want in it. I’m pretty sure a pin didn’t win the majority vote. Based on the Playstation Blog’s article of the same story’s comments from employees at Square Enix , you can assume that we will be getting some super ultra collectors edition comparable to Japan. Not sure why they’d announce only this first though

    • harmonyworld

yeah, but it’s shitty thing for free, unless you like pins.
I, for one, do not give a flying foop for pins so….yeah.

  • Are you serious……..a pin? Of all the things it’s just a pin?

    • urbanscholar

At least shoot us a small keyblade chain.

      • I mean maybe yeah remember that cool ass art book they gave out if you preordered dragons crown

    • Federico

      Hey, It’s free!

      • The art book case thing from last time was free and that thing was cool at least to me it was . This thing it looks like they were like meh we should just give a little two dollar piece of plastic that most of em will forget about later on

  • Lloyd Christmas

If I were to make a list of the lamest pre-order incentives ever, this would be near the top five.

  • ApZzZ

Pls Square, release a limited edition like the last one.

  • Naruto

I’m supposed to pre-order this for a pin?

    • Anthony Hadow

Its better than limited time only DLC. I am happy to take any collectable over that crap.

      • Naruto

I guess that’s true, but still a pin? I mean the least they could do is throw in an art book or something.

        • Anthony Hadow

Well I mean its a pre-order bonus there giving you stuff for free its kinda like take it or leave it. I do agree that we should get the same collectibles as japan though but those can be paid special editions or something

      • Snorlaxation

        Depends on the DLC

        • Anthony Hadow

I would disagree I like to own all the content for my games if its limited time only well then they loose out on my future DLC purchase. Not only does it prevent me from getting new content but it also puts a big middle finger to my face from the company that allowed such a thing. Now if they gave the DLC free with pre-order but you can purchase it online if you didn’t I would be fine with it.

          • Snorlaxation

You have a point, but I think a lot of the over DLC-ing that’s been done over the years has ruined the whole concept of it. DLC for Dissida/Duodecim was absolutely fucking rediculous for instance. Lots of cool things, but not worth constantly having to buy it all.
I don’t have an absolute hatred for DLC, but I prefer when I get the option of getting it easily (like not having to GO and get it from somewhere), when I can get it for free optionally, or pay for it cheaply. If it’s something I’ve just Gotta have though, nothing but stupid as hell price-tags stop me.

          • Anthony Hadow

Well like I said if they just had it up for buy later I would be fine with it. The Dead Space series is a good example of what im talking about. In order to get all content you would of had to pre-order from 3 different retail stores and they never put the content up for buy.

    • Hinataharem

      Believe it

  • Kamakuma

T-This is it…? Why not simply give us the cool Double pack Japan is getting? ;…; Oh wait I forgot the west doesn’t get nice things.. v..v

    • popo123

The packaging will probably be the same as the previous limited edition of Kh1.5 wherein it’s an artbook packaging.

    • Jason Ryer

OH they will but only on SE site so get that pay pal ready.

  • AuraGuyChris

If the pin had had the three original Keyblade wielders, I might have cared.

  • Snorlaxation

(To be honest, it’s like getting socks for Christmas).

But I guess as a free (cheap) bonus, it’s better than nothing. Hopefully I can still get an artbook or something else to enjoy alongside it.

  • mockturtle

Well, I collect Disney pins, so this makes me very happy.

  • LDM

I am not really into the Kingdom Heart series, but this is a slap in the face for the Western fans of this game. However, I don’t advocate a boycott or anything – just save your money and wait until it’s cheaper as the months roll by.

  • NightzeroAX

    Epic Fail.

  • Ronldbx6

I don’t even care about the pin. I’m still excited for this bundle. KH2 FM and BBS FM in HD! And those new Re:coded cinematic look awesome!

  • James Reilly

    Best preorder bonus ever.

    • Mc-kun

I dunno I would had preferred something like an OST or at least more than a pin.

  • Mc-kun

I like swag but only a pin is kind of…I don’t know it doesn’t motivate me to pay extra. The LE is extra right? Like 10-20 USD more than the standard. I know Persona Q cost more but not sure about this.

    • xAtKx

Its the same price as the regular edition, $40.

    • Anime10121

Its a First print edition, no extra cost… just the initial first shipment!

  • Jrocy247

Uuuuuuh, If THIS is really the only thing they can think of for people pre ordering this game?…..No thanks, I’ll pass.

    • Remember when games are there to be played? Now people just buy game for rubbish like limited artwork or soundtrack lol.

Never going to understand people hah

      • Yeah I could live without pre-order bonuses, and I do!

        • well I like my pins so I’m pretty cool lol

  • soulz

Japan gets a Nice Sora Figurine we get a pin…….T_T

  • mockturtle

Okay, let me ask you all a very fair question: why is this pin pissing you off so much?

    • I personally have no problem with it but if you check out what Japan gets you can see where the butthurt is coming from.

    • Snorlaxation

There are quite a few people who’ve explained exactly why they find this so upsetting.

But anyway, the simple fact is, after seeing the other couple articles on Siliconera, about the bundles and all the cool looking extras and whatnot, getting all hyped up for a game that’s basically several (or two) great games in one, seeing this is just…. Trombone noise, fart noise, underwhelming, unspiring, blah.

A pin is a nice little collectors item.
A pin as the ONLY extra to the game after seeing so much else that the Japanese release is getting, is pretty fuckin’ lame.

HOWEVER, I’m not surprised. Whenever we got a game, they got Final Mix. Whenever we get DLC for Final Fantasy or Pokemon, or pretty much anything, they get bonus content Levels Above and Beyond our own. Whether it’s just cuz the games were made there, whether the sales are better there, idk. It’s just what happens every single time. It’s kinda sad, it kinda hurts, and it’s constantly happening. Fans in any country that isn’t Japan (possibly an overstatement, but not by much) feel this.

Unless they don’t care, and are only in it for the bare bones content. But then, if you’re a fan of the game, or rather, a fan of the SERIES, and have been continusously buying stuff from them, doesn’t this feel like you’ve been brushed to the side? Yet again?

Sorry for the rant (and sorry for not really being sorry about it), but that’s pretty much what the people are feeling.

  • Shady Shariest

Oh dear god this is just sad… A for effort i guess?

    • Anime10121

Ikr… I was at the very least expecting another artbook… (pin does at least look nice though)

  • Toankun

is this meant to convince people to pre-order? i guess we shouldn’t judge so quickly as they may be a collectors edition……. i hope :(

  • Dave Cain

with all of this complaining i guess you people prefer dlc? lol just be glad we still get physical preorder incentive in late 2014.

  • Ban The Jackass

Pin as freebie… Hm… TWEWY 2 confirmed! … Since TWEWY has many pins.

    • 하세요

Next time, don’t explain it afterwards. Kills the funny D:

  • Raltrios

    Last pic:
    “WTF am I reading?”

  • Rabbit

    Oh… A pin… Woo…. Now where’s my KH1.5+2.5 Bundle Edition!? >:C

  • limited edition is up on shopto.
