Super Smash Bros. For 3DS Has An Exclusive Tomodachi Life Stage

By Ishaan . July 24, 2014 . 11:33am

The Nintendo 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. has an exclusive stage based on Tomodachi Life, director Masahiro Sakurai has revealed via Miiverse.

Sakurai wrote: “This is the Tomodachi Life stage that’s exclusive to the 3DS version! The front walls of the apartments disappear so you can see the area within when a fighter overlaps with the room. The rooms are randomly placed and selected from among several types. Planting an X Bomb behind a wall might be an effective tactic.”

He added: “You might run into a Mii living in the room! The Mii characters are taken from the data in your 3DS system, so you could find your friends living in the apartments.”

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will be released this October.

I don’t really know if “exclusive” is needed to describe stages anymore since all except Wily, BF, and FD are known to be exclusive.

Edit: And Boxing Ring (not Smashville, to our knowledge), thanks for reminding me everyone below.

    • J_Joestar

I believe the boxing ring is also a shared stage too.

    • The Boxing Ring is also shared, but Smashville, known in the Wii U version as Town & City, hasn’t been shown off on 3DS yet as far as I’m aware. I always thought they were doing a new/similar stage for 3DS designed after New Leaf seeing as Town & City is designed after City Folk.

The base of the stage is more than likely going to be the same though, just a different background. I’d be very surprised if they kept Smashville a Wii-U exclusive – that was one of the top played on stages in tournaments, be a shame to leave out the other half of the buyer base because of the other AC stage.

Nice move. Exclusive stages are always welcomed when you have the same game on different systems.

Hurry up already. I want to wreck faces with Ike.

    • Raltrios

I want to pulverize patooties with Pit!

      • hawk222

I want to break bones with Bowser!

  • So is the Mii having a party with Crossdressing Princesses?

    • 古戸ヱリカ

      It’s always a party with cross-dressing princesses!

they still need to add Sheik

      • doubleO7

        Sheik was announced months ago.

Great… I went out to do some grocery shopping for just a bit, and now there are weirdos in my room…

    Pretty cute weirdos, though…

  • AuraGuyChris

I will make Lucina hail the Virtual Boy…

  • Come on. Who didn’t see this coming after the bachelor life post a while back?

  • If it doesn’t get a Style Savvy stage, I’ll know they officially don’t care. TTuTT

    • HK

I need that boyfriend update! TTuTT

      • I know! I don’t understand what’s taking so long! TTATT
Also, I love your alpaca. ;u; Too cute. ♥

  • Micah Gajewski

But will Nintendo let the Smash characters have homosexual marriages on this stage?

  • SetzerGabbiani

*Walks in*…sees Lucina with sword and Zelda….*walks out*

  • hawk222

How will this work with the Mii Fighters? I mean, if you’re playing as a Mii and that Mii enters the room, what happens? Can there only be one? Kill your double?

(They’ll probably make it so that only Miis that aren’t being used show up.)

  • Ciaran Doherty

They should add a Star Fox: Assault stage into the game, specifically the one where Corneria City is being destroyed by the Aparoids and in the background you can see both the Arwings and Wolfens duking it out with the Aparoids in the sky, if you look closely, you can see Fox on the Wolfen’s wing blasting the Aparoids, however, if you are currently playing as him then replacing Fox on the Wolfen’s wing would be either Falco or Krystal, a good idea maybe :]?
