Considering the second one never come here, Koei are u going to crush my heart again here?T_T

Stay positive,Maybe they were just waiting for a 3rd game to bring over here as 2 so they can introduce the confusing numbering of the Dynasty series again.

      • idrawrobots

I like this kind of thinking!

  • fyi1191

I know they did a lot of awesome models and all, but being on 3DS just isn’t doing any justice for them.

    • http://www.segalization.com/ Kuronoa

Surprised they even made a Vita version.

    • HarakiriKami

Whats wrong with the 3DS? Lots of beautiful games on this thing. And the 3D adds depth to alot of graphics?

      Worried about jaggies?

And hey, when emulation comes around well be running 3DS games with 2xSMAA on PC so the more of them we get the better!

    • CozyAndWarm

Why not? The more detailed the models the better

  • Tincho Kudos

Can’t believe they are already for the third installment in this spin-off series while the main one is in its fourth in the span of 10 years.
Either way this is awesome news! Loved the first one

  • MrJechgo

Seeing that we didn’t get the 2nd game stateside, I wouldn’t get my hopes up…

  • http://www.segalization.com/ Kuronoa

Why didn’t we get the 2nd one? Chronicles was the first 3DS game I bought back when I had to share the handheld with my sister.

    • andref

Maybe the first didn’t sell as much as they liked though I do remember reading the 2nd one was more like an update to the first game so perhaps they didn’t think it would sell that well here
Edit: Found what I was looking for, according to the wiki for the 2nd game, “The producer says this title is not a completely new title; the main scenario, particular stages, and character movesets remain relatively unchanged. It is targeted towards consumers who may have played or interested fans who have not yet played Samurai Warriors Chronicles.”

      • Jean Fernandes

wow this is so good :)

So we can have a chance to put hands on this fantastic game? *.* Because I am so sad that the second one dind’t come to America..

        • andref

Probably a better chance than the 2nd since it seems to have more significant changes than the second game

  • Ric Vazquez

Another one for my Vita collection

  • Scourge626

I wonder if your choices will actually mean anything this time around. Not earth shattering changes, but if I say I don’t want to join up with Hideyoshi or Tokugawa then I don’t want to join up with Hideyoshi or Tokugawa. It’d be nice to have alternative routes as well so I can save Nobunaga.

    • ronin4life

Chronicles 2nd did this, but was never released here.

  • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

I hope they don’t go the lazy root and make the PSV a direct port from the 3DS. After DWN and DW8 it’d be a shame to see subpar graphics only because the game is on the 3DS too~.

    • HarakiriKami

Conception 2,, VLR and Exstetra were all straight ports and nothing was “lazy” about them.

Its basically PSP vs Vita game

      • British_Otaku

Conception 2 had the Vita be the lead version and gave the 3DS a lazy port which had no map on the bottom screen as one of the faults (at least in the demo).

VLR seemed perfectly fine as far as I can tell though I prefer the two screen system established with 999, 3DS was definitely the lead there.

No idea about Exstetra… I forgot that game released and should get back to it.

        • HarakiriKami

          There’s a map in the 3DS version.

The demo was just that, an incomplete demo.

C2 should be gotten where its cheap. But there’s something that’s just undeniably hilarious about posting Conception 2 screenshots on Miiverse.
(Miiverse is a rather lewd place for a community with such arbitrary moderation lol)

Let me just say this. Toshin Toshi.Exstetra. There’s absolutely nothing of value in that game. Just a piece of shit that Furyu shat out. Like, it doesnt even get the basics of an rpg right lmao.

          Nothing of value is there.

          • British_Otaku

I know there was a map in the demo (and likely full game), but my beef was with how the bottom screen was a means to access the menu (X button) and never displayed the map.

If you pressed Y, the map popped up on the top screen either in the corner of the screen or middle of the screen. Since the touch screen only shows health (1/5 of the screen) and two buttons which serve the same purpose as face buttons with unnecessary ino on the top screen, I thought it seemed like a lazy port for that reason.

If I’m mistaken that this one of those rare cases where a game improves markedly from a demo, cool.

Miiverse seems consistent in one sense, if it is content which happens in the game whether it is swearing with subtitles, gratuitous fanservice or violence, it should be left alone. This is how High School DxD, Island Days, Toushin Toshi and such have stuck around.

I already have Toushin Toshi, but haven’t found the time to make my way through it. Thanks for the advice on Exstetra but I’ll still probably find my way back to it after dozens of other 3DS imports.

Do you have any specific things it messed up for an RPG though?

          • HarakiriKami

Hahahahaha, if you’re gonna play it anyway then Ill leave you to wade through those hollowed depths yourself

          • British_Otaku

Somehow, your vague response is more frightening than any descriptive paragraph you could have written.

I’ll brace myself from a Project X Zone as far as forgetting all of the rules of a genre. >_>

          • HarakiriKami

’cause fear is all in the head ‘mate.

          • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

no the demo was a tutorial for 3DS. Vita version was chapter 1

          • Money?Muney??All my luveee!!!

Toshin Toshi is a good game though and it is 3DS exclusive. Excetra never get that one so i am not sure.

      • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Pretty much all the Lego games are lazy ports from the 3DS version. It could be argued the same about Batman Blackgate. Neither Conception 2 or VLR were games that would show too much graphics wise so there’s no room for toning down the graphics~.

I do agree that it’s kind of a PSP vs PSV game~.

      • xXDGFXx

That was from Vita to 3DS, not 3DS to Vita.

If we really have to think of a game that went that route, we should consider One Piece: Unlimited Word RED. On the other hand, the camera was clunky, enemy fillrate was low, and executing combos was also slow…. still, really fun and well done game.

        • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

          VLR was 3DS to Vita

  • Weeb

    So much Musou this year.

    • Siberiansi

Yeah, it’s a pretty ridiculous release schedule in the West. I’ve already bought Dynasty Warriors Gundam, and I have my eye on Shinovi Vs., Hyrule Warriors, Samurai Warriors 4, and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate.

  • J_Joestar

Hope this comes over this time, i loved SWC regardless of the graphics.
I wonder how it will look on the Vita though as a multiplat with the 3DS.

    • HarakiriKami

      Upressed like most vita games.

3DS versions have 3D and better screen management in most cases

    • xXDGFXx

Most likely just better graphics, controls, and performance. I think they’re going to be using a dynamic framebuffer for the game this time, unlike how they did the port of Dynasty Warrior 8 XL:CE on Vita.

I’m a bit more curious of the enemy fillrate for the games. Samurai Chronicles on 3DS had a very small fillrate most of the time.

Oh, and cutscenes. The latest Dynasty Warrior used ingame models to do most of the before/during/after battle scenarios.

    • tubers

Possibly better image quality by better ppi, slightly better textures, filtering, slightly better draw distance and more/jagged dynamic shadows if they decide to somewhat optimize the VITA version.

  • British_Otaku

I know there was Conception II, VLR and a few others but Vita + 3DS isn’t the most common combination so I’m pretty glad to see this.

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

I got Conception II and VLR on 3DS digital instead of my PS Vita.

  • HarakiriKami

    RELEASE IN NA!!!

  • leingod

So, what’s different between these games and the regular musou games?

    • HarakiriKami

You can switch characters mid combo

      • Rayhan PromisedGallery

which basically makes this game pointless since SW4 already add SWC character switch feature.

      • leingod

Oh, I see. I thought it could maybe be another type of gameplay or whatever. Not a fan of character switching myself… that’s why I’ve never been too much into Musou Orochi.

        • HarakiriKami

Im not familiar with the stuff in these games tbh. I mostly played Orochi 3 Hyper and DW7.

I have an unopened copy of the 3DS one though that I should play lol. If I can find my 3DS that is

        • Alexander Marquis Starkey

Well before SW4, it was being able to play as 4 different characters in one stage, switching between each with all of them having a different perspective. Though SW4 only let’s you pick two, Koei pretty much brought the mechanic over to that game.

  • Rayhan PromisedGallery

i’m still waiting for Drakengard musou…

    • HarakiriKami

      Drakengard is already musou…

    • roockie112

were you get to play with all the Drakengard characters Oh Lord just thinking about it gets me on lol

  • Serge

This thing about 3DS Vs Vita is ridiculous, please Stop.
If you think you are supporting one hardware by talking shit about the other, then think again. Nobody wants to be associated with a group of guy that spend their days talking shit on a website.
