Fantasy Life’s New Trailer Shows What The RPG Is All About

By Ishaan . August 18, 2014 . 11:30am

Nintendo of Europe have shared a new trailer for Fantasy Life, Level 5’s Nintendo 3DS life-simulation RPG, which is being published in North America and Europe soon.

As reported in the past, Fantasy Life allows you to choose from several “lives” (effectively, the game’s version of jobs/classes), including off-kilter ones like Woodcutter and Cook. The game has music by Nobuo Uematsu and Yoshitaka Amano contributed to the title as well, with concept art.

While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, various aspects of the game that Nintendo have discussed so far suggest that the version being localized for the West is Fantasy Life: Link, the enhanced version of the game with online multiplayer. We’ll need to wait for an official confirmation on this front, though.

Fantasy Life: Link will be released in Europe on September 26th. North America will see the game on October 24th.

  • MrOrpheus

Gah, that art! Uhnf, that music! Eep, that premise! Give it to me now! *swoons*

  • Mace

This looks amazing. Looks so much more satisfying than what Animal Crossing offered me.

I’m pretty sure they confirmed online multiplayer during the Treehouse event and Fantasy Life didn’t get online multiplayer until Link. It’s safe to say this is Link. The game looks so damn charming, been waiting years for it. This shit’s gonna be so comfy during the winter.

I doubt it’s it’s a trend, but it’s nice to see that some publishers are waiting for definitive versions of games until they localize them. Fantasy Life: Link, Bravely Default: For the Sequel and Monster Hunter 4G come to mind.

Seems nice. I hope the game sells well so the 3DS can get more Japan localizations.

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

      Up to 4.

      • gk2012

        Source?

I’ve seen people who played the game say that it’s only up to 3.

        • HarakiriKami

…. Its in the video mate.

          • gk2012

You mean the part where it showed 3 3DSs playing together with 3 characters on-screen?

Thank you, your answer was very helpful. It showed me that the game supports up to 4 players.

          • gk2012

I’m not really sure which imaginary video you’re talking about, but here you go. :)

  • Rintarou

Curse you Europe… Getting the game a month earlier than US. I guess we deserve it, though.

  • Mark Lengod

I love the fact that the fisherman job has a hood similar to DQ7′s hero.

    ;__;

    Really interested in this game.

  • s6_miller

I heard that the link version also received various patches and updates as well. Will those already be included?

  • straightthrucru

COOOL. I like the visuals here way better than the ones on that new Harvest Moon game. Speaking of, can you get married in this? If you can — I’m pretty much sold.

    • Kaetsu

Sadly there’s no marriage or relationships but you can recruit NPCs as party members.

  • HarakiriKami

Yo nintendo get that american marketing track rolling too XD

  • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

Still can’t believe it’s coming over. I hope to pick this up asap.

    • https://www.facebook.com/mike.degroodt Mike de Groodt

Me too Preordered 2 right away xD

I like games like this and this is coming at a right time since New Leaf is starting to get a bit boring again :P

      • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

One for you and your gf (saw your comment in the OT). How nice. :D

Me too, and its nice change of pace from others. I’ll have to pick up New Leaf up one if these days.

        • https://www.facebook.com/mike.degroodt Mike de Groodt

Really was hoping this would get localized and thankfully it did xD

me and my GF are prolly gonna dick around xD
Strolling thru caves and do some gathering and stuff xD

          • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

            Same.

Ah, that’s nice. Hope you guys enjoy the game. XD

    • HarakiriKami

Thank nintendo and offer them prayers for more localizations with substantial marketing behind them. So that they may enlighten the rest of japan to the truth that we all know.RPG’s are the true kings of the gaming world.

      • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

I think that is the problem with many titles coming over – lack of marketing.

If it wasn’t for gaming sites, I’d probably have less interest in certain titles, especially DD-only ones.

        • HarakiriKami

You wouldnt even know abou them

  • http://people.ign.com/neil_rev Luna

I get a strong DQ vibe from this trailer, and it’s awesome.

    • Kaetsu

Level 5 is the developer. They made DQ8&9.

  • http://forums.wpcentral.com/members/wanderingtraveler.htm TheWPCTraveler

I have a feeling that if this does good enough, Yokai Watch will end up getting localized. Hmm…

    • HarakiriKami

      Its being localized

  • Kevin

I like the look of the game and I’ve been following it since level 5 announced it like a 2 years ago but w/ all I’ve seen, this game is gonna be short lived. As much as it seems to have to explore and do I doubt it’s going to have all that much content even while having multiple classes. The multiple classes honestly just feel like a way to increase the time you spend on it by adding backtracking.

    • K.PL

The game is supposed to have over or around 21,000 words of text.
With that amount I would hope it had a considerable amount of content.

    • HarakiriKami

Considering many people have already played this game, and there’s a staggering amount of content ( which is why its taken so long to come out here) I’d say you’re extremely out the loop buddy.

  • wahyudil

October 24th? should this be released in October 3rd?

  • Kenshin Raijin

I ca’t wait for this!! I been interested in it for awhile :D

  • Kornelious

This game looks pretty good, I definitely want to get it but has anyone played and know if it’s really good…..And of course is there ROMANCE!? XD

    • HarakiriKami

      No.

The game is fantastic. You’ll spend hundreds of hours in it
