Here’s A Look At Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 3’s New Bouncer Class

By Ishaan . August 20, 2014 . 4:01pm

Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 3 has a new class called the Bouncer, PSU Blog reports. The Bouncer class specializes in striking, tech and aerial combat, and can use two new weapon-types—the Dual Blades and Jet Boots.

The Dual Blades, composed of Photon, are a striking weapon used for close-quarters combat. You can recover PP attacking areas where the blades have pierced the enemy. Meanwhile, the Jet Boots are tech weapons used for attacking with Technics and Photon Arts.

The Jet Boots are capable of triggering support effects such as Shifta and Deband automatically, and are also capable of allowing you to perform double jumps.

Other classes in the game have received new skills as well, and you can read about those here.

They totally could’ve went with a better name than “White Territory” (guess it’s fine in Japan but if it ever comes over here, they will definitely change that) but this update looks hype as hell. The Charge Escape on FO looks awesome, about time we can evade while charging.

August 27th will be known as Bouncer Day. I’ll probably be in the Casino more than leveling up Bouncer though >_>

    • Magicks

LOL, I remember when the information first came out, and I tried plugging in the Japanese text into Google translate. What came out was the most racist description ever, LOL.

I don’t want to imagine what the EQs would be like with all the new bouncers around. Especially for Mining Base: Despair. It’s going to be awkward overfill of supports trying to defend the towers.

      • 하세요

It’s fine, because we’re all skating on air. We may fail, but we will look fab doing so.

        • zzzSleeping

I am saving up daily orders to lvl up bouncer

          • 하세요

That’s not a bad idea. I’ve been neglecting the game recently to avoid burning myself out.

  • Leon_Tekashi

All these updates of PSO2 is making me more and more salty about the fact that it’s taking Sega of America so long to release the damn game…

    • KazukiNanbu

…if they release the damn game, my expectations are really low right now

    • Judgephoenix

Trust me you do not want the U.S version if it came out. Every single anime collaboration will be removed and replaced with junk. It is mainly those issues in which the game will not come out. The only way it will survive in the U.S if it goes to PS4/XboxOne since F2P seem to be amassing on those systems.

      • DaiRaiOh

Not necessarily at all. You say that like the US never gets collaboration content in any games.

        • Ferrick

pretty sure that old phantasy star games with online coop had alot of content cut in the english version

        • 하세요

Eh, just look at Monster Hunter. Just about all the anime ones get cut or replaced with generic things, defeating the initial purpose of the event. PSO2 is filled with anime things. It would be a lot of copywrite to deal with, so it would either be replaced with generic things or just cut as a whole.

Heck, previous Phantasy Star titles that had crossovers, NA/EU never got the content.

          • Hines Green III

I was surprised Phantasy Star Portable 2 keep all the Vocaloid, Fate Stay and Eva costumes intact for the US version.
No Pizza Hut shield tho :(

      • Nesther

I’d be fine with them cutting out those collabs, I never enjoy these seeing how immersion breaking they are.
The Nintendo costumes in MH and Bayonetta also irk me.

        • Magicks

As immersion-breaking they are, I like them because it gives us access to hair accessories that you can mess around with; it means more materials to work with when changing your character’s look.

    • Magicks

Honestly, I’ve long given up on it, and now enjoying the game on the JPN servers. On top of that, why play US servers when they’ll be two years behind in content? And if anything, we probably would something similar to the SEA PSO2 version, which is to say it’s not very impressive at all…

  • Martian Wong

What is the hold up for US release anyway?

    • Brion Valkerion

Probably best to assume its dead by this point. That or the hopeful answer would be its taking so long because they want to give a quality product which includes all the various anime and other game tie in events which has been a logistical nightmare outside Japan.

Realistically though its probably dead lol.

  • Ferrick

can’t wait to make a Bo/Fi build, here’s hoping that limit break isn’t “main class only” skill

    • Magicks

Sadly, it is. It’s been confirmed that Limit Break is a main Fighter class only skill. You can check it out on the most recent bumped.org/psublog/ page and it will tell you the details about the new skills in the skill-trees.

      • Ferrick

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, well thats out of the window

  • Ren Yuumei

    And i’m sad….again

    • DanielGearSolid

      Yea…

      • 하세요

SEGA doesn’t want your filthy, western love.

        Here’s a blue hedgehog doe.

  • Byron Kerrison II

Wouldn’t it be trippy if the NA release came out the same day Episode 3 does?

    …I can dream.

  • Digidyne017

I have LOOONNNNGGGGG since lost hope for this game…..Hate to say this but at this point, in my opinion, its not coming to the U.S. Westerners usually get the short end of the stick in regards to most japanese made games, why wait to be fed one? They already have their resources on other games, and they’re getting ready for TGS, I wouldn’t hold my breath expecting some big surprise that’s likely to not happen, given the silence and crap. No one wants to wait years just for a mere announcment that says the localization is still in process, and then release years later (again) in the form of some half -assed duplicate for westerners.

    • Magicks

Pretty much. If you’re REALLY REALLY desperate, you can start playing on the JPN servers. You can find everything you need to know about playing PSO2 online, through the PSU Blog, and PSOWorld. (And Arks-Layers. But I lumped them together since the creator of the English PSO2 Tweaker is on PSOWorld.)

      • Digidyne017

Is it really as difficult as it sounds to set up an account for the “english” japanese servers?

        • Ferrick

no it’s not hard, the ones who say so are just exaggerating. setting up an address to buy AC however… that’s another thing

        • Magicks

It’s not hard, it’s just tedious. And if you need any help, there are plenty of guides out there on how to sign up and download the client. (Though due to something that happened back in June, you will probably need a VPN as well. )

    • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owl

Sadly…that about sums it up. My patience has been put in the grave now.

  • zzzSleeping

All the moaners should just play the jp version with english patch.

    • XyzzySqrl

Love to. You want to do the Captca for me?

      • zzzSleeping
        • XyzzySqrl

Doesn’t work. Either I’m taking too long to get it in, or I’m mistaking “squiggle-shaped h with a line coming off it” for “squiggle-shaped h with a line coming off it and a really faint line up at the top”. Either way, I sit there for a couple of hours every now and then and try until it stops giving me “invalid captcha” messages and starts giving me “this address has been locked” messages.

          • zzzSleeping

I had trouble to yes you have to be fast.I think 5 mins max. Took me like 4-5 tries. I guess ask a friend you trust with your acc info to help you make one?

          • XyzzySqrl

Yeah, I’m gonna keep trying every couple months until I get it right. I guess if I can’t get that down I have no right to be playing anyway.

          • zzzSleeping

Nah breh it’s easier than you think. Srsly ask some friend to make you the acc.

  • I want =[

  • Namuro

I thought they can already “bounce”…?

  • Renaldi Saputra

    TFW IP Block
    :'(

    • zzzSleeping

There is no IP block unless you are from SEA.

      • Renaldi Saputra

I’m indeed from SEA, Indonesia literally

    • Ferrick

so i’m guessing the method that was given to you failed

      • Renaldi Saputra

I told, you, I tried the same method, failed on PS Vita

        • Ferrick

you did not tell me anything to be exact, though i think that’s because the link i gave you to the working method was erased by one of the mods (as usual), and are you sure you are using the correct vpn server and followed the instructions properly?

          • Renaldi Saputra

I used JPN server for the VPN, and I also tried many others. Still failed

          • Ferrick

well you must’ve done something wrong, or you’re just unlucky that this method doesn’t work on you and your vita, or you just forgot to disconnect current wifi on vita and connect to the newly created wifi that has vpn on it

          • Renaldi Saputra

I’ve been searching for another PS Vita users, I found some and they experienced the same problem and still can’t go through it

          • Ferrick

exactly what kind of “problem” did you experience when using it? seems to me that i could logon just fine on my side

          • Renaldi Saputra

I was using VPN on my smartphone, since I can do tethering so that I can use the connection as wifi on PS Vita. When I activated the VPN, I couldn’t even connect internet via PS Vita with it, said “connection error”

          • Ferrick

            what’s the CE code?

          • Renaldi Saputra

            CE Code?

          • Ferrick

            connection error code

  • The Watcher

Tell ya what Sega, Localize Phantasy Star Nova and all will be forgiven :)

  • Vash bane

that new class looks cool specially the boots :)

also been curious f awhile but why do the characters with multi colored eyes have horns now (unless players are always adding horns)
