Sony Answer Questions About Freedom Wars’ Western Release

Recommended Videos

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony have been addressing questions and concerns about Freedom Wars’ North American and European release. Below are some of the topics that were touched upon by SCEA producer Nick Accordino:

Regarding the lack of a demo:

Unfortunately not at this time – we’re focusing our efforts on getting the game itself out across multiple regions, so apologies that you won’t see a demo before launch.

On physical pre-order bonuses:

We unfortunately weren’t able to provide any physical bonuses in time for the launch of the game, but I’ll be working hard to bring over some other fun items a bit later after launch! Freedom Wars is a big title, so please stay tuned! :)

Regarding online passes:

We’re sticking to the systems implemented in the JP release, so yes, similar to Soul Sacrifice Delta, the game will have an online pass. It will of course be included via voucher within retail copies and included with digital downloads of the game.

On cross-region multiplayer compatibility:

As of right now, the SCEA and SCEE versions will be compatible online. Because the JP version uses different Panopticons (different cities, etc), they’ll be fighting it out among themselves – at least for the time being.

On balance complaints from Japanese players:

[1] You’re getting a very updated version of the JP release! Please keep in mind that we have online (both co-op and PvP) implemented from day 1, so you’ll be getting a much more complete package from the very start!

[2] We’ll be incorporating both major updates from the Japanese release into our Day 1 release, so you’ll be getting the most balanced, up-to-date version.

As previously reported, the game will be available in North America on October 28th and in Europe on October 31st.
