Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley Has A More In-Depth Crop System

Recommended Videos

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley will feature an expanded crop system, Natsume said in a new developer diary. Each crop in the game has several variants that will be different from their regular versions, both visually and in terms of properties.

In the case of cabbages, for example, there are ten different ways that you can grow your cabbages, including great cabbages, red cabbages, and other variations depending on how you grow them. One example of growing your crops differently is planting pumpkins in swampy ground, which will result in you getting one of the different pumpkin mutations in the game. All in all, there are 100 such crops in the game.

Since crops can be planted in many more places in Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley, you’ll need to think outside your traditional field. Planting crops closer to or further away from water, on elevated ground or lower elevations, on dry land or swampy ground, will all have different effects on how they turn out.

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley will be available this Fall for $29.99. Europe will see the game sometime in 2015.
