Freedom Wars Gets Its 8-Player PvP Mode Today In North America

By Ishaan . October 28, 2014 . 9:31am

Freedom Wars is being released in North America today, and Sony Computer Entertainment have confirmed that patch 1.20—which adds an online 8-player PvP mode to the game—will be available today as well.

In addition to adding the PvP mode, the patch will eliminate the online pass that was required in Eastern territories, and will also make balance tweaks to the game.

Sony say they plan to support Freedom Wars with free DLC every week until the end of November. They also point out the game is compatible with both PS Vita and PlayStation TV.

    …meh. Sticking to SSDelta.

    • dboyz

I actually enjoy more on SS compare to SSDelta since the farming on SSDelta is too meh….(its like 100% drop rate)

    • Kaitou21

IDK what’s up with you guys I played SSD and found it absolutely dreadful, one of the worst hunting experiences I’ve ever had tbth.

      • revenent hell

I didn’t enjoy it myself. I think people really have over hyped that game for very little reason.

        • Meldarion Teglesifer

Have you heard of “different tastes”?

          • revenent hell

Yes, and that’s my opinion. Have you heard people have them?

I think people have overhyped the game for little reason since I don’t find it to be particularly interesting or good. I don’t even find it any better than any other game of its ilk that I have played other than it being “darker” story wise than most, and while that element is a plus it doesn’t change the fact I think the game is pretty mediocre.

Given that I find the game lacking in its field I believe people have overhyped it and over credited it where it does not deserve it, hence my opinion on it.

          • MinakoArisato

Actually, I think Soul Sacrifice has a very interesting gameplay. Delta goes even further, with combining magic, between two players and solo, even further expanding the very good written story, with even more plot twists and having even more Archfiends than before, including all DLC enemies.
The grafics are good, the music is freaking gorgeous…

…so, yes, I love Soul Sacrifice, for its dark and twisted story, its unique gameplay, different from Monster Hunter and Toukiden and wonderfull music.
And really, can a game be overhyped? I don’t think so.
If a game gets a lot of praise, well, could it be it is actually deserved? And if you do not like it, because of a totally different taste, then thats absolutely okay, because yes, SS is doing things differently than the rest, but we on the other hand, love it for that.

          • revenent hell

Yes a game can be overhyped and be given undeserved praise because while most may and do deserve such good words about it others I find do not since my thoughts and opinion greatly differs from those of whom praise it and think its a good game.

And while some may adore this game and even defend what I find to be lacking it doesn’t change the fact that I did not find the game innovative or interesting to play.

I really do detest comparing games but I did not find this one to excel in any way, just about the only thing that it has going for it is its darker story but that doesn’t make the gameplay better than another game or more interesting.

Personally I don’t find that this game really does anything all that different from any other game of this genre and I don’t find it does any of those things better either. Hence why I think the way I do of it.

          • MinakoArisato

So how can you tell if a game is not worthy of its hype? By personal opinion alone?

          • revenent hell

Duh, obviously. I don’t believe a game is worth its hype because that is my personal opinion about the game . Just like you think its worthy of praise because that is your personal opinion.

          • MinakoArisato

            Lets leave it at that.

      • BrokenSkullZero

i think i would have enjoyed the SS series more if they had a townhub.
God Eater and Toukiden give you that opportunity to connect with the npcs and see more of the game aside from murder and desecrating fresh corpses

    • ishyg

    • Alice

I’m confused. some places (internet) says 29, and some says 31. And according to my nearest gamestop, they say it’s 29…

      • Postnjam

Europe gets it on the 29th, UK gets it on the 31st because nobody like the UK.

        • Alice

Ah, I see. Thanks for the reply. My doubts are gone ^^

  • Nesther

Does anyone know why the EU physical edition comes out a week after the digital one?

    • darke

Digital copies aren’t inconvenienced by last-minute shipping delays, I’d guess.

  • ddh819

is the single player portion good? or don’t even bother?

    • Yorai Dragon

  • AndyError

I remember seeing complaints about unfair difficulty and balance issues when the game came out in Japan. Are those issues fixed now?
