Remember Satellite Reign? This is the real-time strategy game that’s a spiritual successor to Syndicate Wars and is being developed by indie developer 5 Lives Studios. We covered it a fair bit last year, and now, the game is being released via Steam Early Access.
Satellite Reign takes place in a dystopian cyberpunk city.The city streets are bustling with people during the daytime and controlled by criminal organizations at night. You control a team of agents comprised of different classes, trying to take control of the city through whatever tactics you decide to employ, including direct combat or hacking into various aspects of the city’s infrastructure.
The goal of Satellite Reign is to allow the player a fair degree of freedom. You aren’t required to take missions on one after another, and you’ll be able to move through the city and tackle objectives as you see fit. You can bribe scientists to advance your technology, kidnap doctors to augment your agents, rob banks to fund your private war against the mega-corporations and so on.
