Terra Battle Reaches 1.2 Million Downloads; Uematsu Making New Music

By Ishaan . November 25, 2014 . 11:29am

Terra Battle has reached 1.2 million downloads and, as promised, Nobuo Uematsu is working on new music for the game in celebration of the milestone.

As previously reported, if Terra Battle reaches 2 million downloads, Mistwalker will bring the game to consoles.

In the meantime, in celebration of their 900k milestone, Mistwalker have made the game’s soundtrack available for free until February 28th, 2015.

  • Cool, now make another Last Story, Lost Odyssey, or Blue Dragon.

    • Gojira Twit

I rather respect the fact that Mistwalker refuses to milk its franchises, to be honest. As much as I’d like to see another Lost Odyssey, all I really want is another good JRPG.

      • Joni Eskobar

I doubt that they refuse to milk their franchises, but that they don’t have enough money to finance another Last Story, Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon on consoles. And there’s the fact that they don’t own the licenses from those franchises.

        • Justin Graham

Mistwalker couldn’t make another Last Story unless they had Nintendo’s blessing/financing. Nintendo holds IP rights to the game. Even at Sakaguchi’s panel at this past PAX Prime, it was made clear that if there is to be a Last Story 2, Nintendo is the party that would have to sign off on it.

          • Ash_Riot

People always seem ignorant to the fact that Marvelous AQL (particularly “feelplus inc.” and “Artoon” both subsidiaries of AQ Interactive before the merger) were the ones who actually developed Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon and The Last Story. Mistwalker are basically a five man team.

If Mistwalker are going to develop a console game, heck even a 3DS or Vita title they need outside help to make it happen.

  • SMT

Please just make this available worldwide instead of a select few countries so that more people can help support this, thanks…

  • Stephen Mc Devitt

Will the Vita version also be free or will there be a price for a non-F2P version.

P.S. That’s what the game looks like?

    • Morgan Rodgers

I think I read somewhere that their plan, if it reaches the goal to bring it “to consoles”, is that they would design a specific console game in the universe. So not the same game, and most likely non-F2P (although who knows).

  • Adrian Duran

rather 3DS or VITA than consoles

    unless it’s PSN or eShop

    • Japan is a different breed. They were targeting a specific market. I doubt it would have pulled in as many downloads on PSN or the Eshop.

Edit: I often forget how many 3DS are out in the world.

  • ivanchu77

come back to final fantasy guys, they can´t make them good anymore without you

  • AndyMAX

    Is the game any good?.

    Is the game any good?.

    • Michael Sosa

      Not really.

    • Justin Graham

My friends and I are enjoying it. I’ve played at least a little most every day since its release, and even on days that I don’t have the time to play, I at least log in to get the daily bonus.

The character art and music are both top notch, and the gameplay is a really fun, if simple, strategy game premise. The story is told through text with some illustrations, but it’s not bad for what it does.

  • CudaBiro

I had the game but just deleted it a week ago.

The way the story is presented really does nothing to engage me as a gamer. I love the music and character designs though, and I don’t have many complaints about how battles are set up either.

    • Morgan Rodgers

It reminds me a lot of Knights in the Nightmare in that way. Virtually nonexistent story from those brief chapter texts. You can get an idea of the world by reading the character bios, but you might not even notice they are there. I really like the battles so far, have been playing for a few weeks.

  • Vyse Legendaire

I dont and never will play a smartphone game. Dont even own one.

    • KoRLumen

      Your loss lol.

        :p

        • Romancer Ecclesia

say what you want, but you’re missing out. i finished the game already and it’s really good.

    • Michael Sosa

Game is ass anyway, like most mobile games. Its pretty braindead like brave frontier but I guess you don’t know that one either.

  • Death Metal

    That japanese Einstein?

    • Touma

my thoughts exactly. the similarities are scary. he didn’t die. he went to asia.

  • gulabjamal

So excited for this. “The World’s Awakening” is one of my favorite tracks ever. Such amazing composition

  • Letrico

After so many downloads. How about releasing in Australia?

  • s07195

DL’ed, does not load past Mistwalker logo…

  • Romancer Ecclesia

I finished the game and am currently waiting for endgame content. It’s very much beatable without spending money on it, I’m glad Sakaguchi’s philosophy was to let as many players as possible experience the game in its entirety. If you haven’t played it yet, do use a VPN to get it onto your android phone or an JP/US iTunes account. The hassle is worth it, if you’re into old school final fantasy games that are long gone.

  • Ban The Jackass

It’s not that bad of a game. It’s not hard or challenging either. The music is great though. You know, you can just switch your country in your iOS setting.

  • Ric Vazquez

I’m waiting for the console version to become a reality :D

  • WingsOfEternity

Gosh, Uematsu looks really old since the last time I’ve seen him.
