Phantasy Star Online 2 To Celebrate ARKS Unity Festival 2015 With New Quests

By Ishaan . January 9, 2015 . 3:31pm

Phantasy Star Online 2 is kicking off its ARKS Unity Festival 2015 event in Japan. The event will begin on January 14th and last until March 15th, and will add new content to the game, including a new limited quest. (Thanks, PSU Blog)

The limited quest will feature enemies such as Dragon-kin, Mechs, Oceanids and the Dark Vibrace. Another aspect of the event will be Xie’s limited client orders and a FUN shop, where you’ll be able to spend FUN Points to acquire weapon camos from the previous Unity Festival event.

Additionally, Extra Hard difficulty (which requires players to be level 70) will be available for the Mining Base: Intrusion and Mega Mecha Awakening quests. Finally, some of the new hairstyles being added to the game will allow you to set two different hair colours at the same time.

Wow… 3 years have passed since the West localization announcement.

    Time sure flies, huh?

    • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owlzilla

      Pretty much.

    • BrokenSkullZero

Trying not to feel sadness after every PSO2 post

    • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Just remember, the English localization announcement was for PC. They never said the game would come West for PSV~.

  • Callonia

What is this PSO2 we speak of?

  • Rinku

    ” Celebrate :D “

  • Jelly King

Cool stuff. SEGA is amazing, really. Not only have they made PSO2 even more amazing, but they also actually released PSO2 out in the west…on time might I add. Imagine 3 years without it! Wouldn’t that be frustrating? Good work SEGA, keep it up!

    • Guest

      Grow up.

      • Jelly King

        Nah. I’m good.

    • Sayla Mass

still playing PSO2 after that i will finish PSnova english version yeah Good job Sega but they should localize hatsune miku game though

      • Darkraiders

I agree, i wanted to play Hatsune Miku games for so long but
I had to import them since i know there were pretty much 0% chance of Sega localizing them.

At least we can trust them on localizing phantasy star game the fastest they can.

  • J Lionel Celeste

Hey cheer up! at least we get a bad sonic game on time without hesitation right guys?

    • Jeremy Noble

we got yakuza 5. Miricles can happen.

      • Cheesy12

I’m pretty sure Sony was mostly to thank for that.

      • J Lionel Celeste

yeah we got all the other Yakuza games too, so you can’t count that….smh

        • Jeremy Noble

we dont have Kenzan, Ishin, or the Psp games. Not all of them as of now.

  • Mind0105A

I might return to the game on 14th Jan. I mean, the most fun times in this game is either EQ or limited quests.

  • Whoops, I came here thinking this was an article for Phantasy Star Nova….Because you see, there’s still hope for that one (If only a little) Seeing how Sega hasn’t completely crushed our hopes for that game….yet -_-

  • On another note, Phantasy Star Nova is awesome

    • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

That one is a game I lament not coming West. Everytime I look at videos in YT I can’t help but think of PSP2~.

  • eilegz

another year without pso 2 :(

    • michel

I still can’t believe that we got Hatsune Miku instead of this!… XD

      • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Why not? Project Diva doesn’t require servers, PSO2 does; that alone is a factor into the equation~.

        • michel

It requires servers in Japan and Asia, too, and yet there it is, with plenty of updates…

  • Rhafty

I always liked how the character bubble pops in from time to time in this series

so… since I’ve been seeing a few posts about this I guess I can ask now lol
how many races in this one?

    • RocKM001 .

The character bubble is actually a chat command :D

And to answer your question so far only 4. They started w/ the basic 3 – Human, Newman and Cast and they recently added Dewman a few updates ago from last year

  • Codi Schumacher

I hope they bring back the beast race.

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

It’s too late for this game to ever come out in the US sadly, it probably would have helped Vita sales a bit even.

  • HerosLight

Two different hair colors at the same time?

Neat, will get back to it soon.

  • Soul Sacrifice

asswipes it’s like they want the vita to fail in NA/EU? I don’t know why these types of games haven’t been localized.

    • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

This isn’t about the PSV; the game was promised to the West on PC. And that never came. At least when it came to the PSV, they never made any announcement which means they weren’t commited to it from the beginning. Sega failed people badly with PSO2~.

  • Can they celebrate with a localization too?
