Yo-kai Watch Trading Card Game Sells 100 Million Cards In Eight Months

Like Pokémon, the Yo-kai Watch series has its own trading card game and it has sold 100 million cards in just eight months, Yukan Ameba News reports. (Via: Anime News Network)

Titled Yo-kai Watch Toritsuki Card Battle, the TCG is a two-player card game that just launched its fourth series of cards last week, which brings new youkai from the recently released film in Japan.

These profits, in case you were wondering, are going back in part to Bandai Namco, who handle Yo-kai Watch merchandise in Japan. As detailed in a past report, Yo-kai Watch has been a more profitable merchandising machine than any of Bandai Namco’s own franchises of late.

In celebration of the trading card game’s success, Bandai Namco are holding a promotion where players that spend 900 yen or more on cards will get a first-edition “Jibakoma” card at select retailers.
