This Is Splatoon’s Equivalent Of A Rapidfire Machinegun

Today, Nintendo showed off another weapon from Splatoon via the game’s official Twitter account. This time, we’re looking at the Wakaba Shooter, which translates to “Young Leaf Shooter”. (Keep in mind that the name will be different in the official English localization.)

The Wakaba Shooter is a rapidfire weapon with a shorter range. While its ink bullets don’t go very fast, the machinegun-like rapidfire capability makes up for this alongside the fact that it has relatively low ink consumption. The name is meant to indicate that it’s a weapon designed to be easy to use, even by beginners.

Nintendo say that, despite the fact that the weapon is intended for beginners, it is by no means weak. If you use it right, it is capable of going toe-to-toe with weapons that appear later in the game.

Splatoon will be released for Wii U this May. The game is a third-person shooter designed by select members of the Animal Crossing development team.
