Pokémon Sun and Moon has some great starters. Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio all have their charm. Each one has some fantastic signature moves, once they level up, and their typing is pretty good as well. Unfortunately, you only get to pick one of them at the outset. Which is why I’ve gone ahead and bred 10 eggs from each starter to share with the Siliconera community for our first Pokémon Sun and Moon community outreach post.
Here’s how this will go. I have 10 Rowlet eggs, 10 Litten eggs, and 10 Popplio eggs. The Littens and Popplios will probably have slightly better stats than the Rowlet, since Rowlet was my pick this generation. None of them have egg moves. Comment on this post and tell me which egg you would like, your friend code, and your trainer name. (One egg per person!) I will keep a tally in this post noting which eggs have been claimed and will respond to the comment of each person who gets an egg to let them know I have added them. My Nintendo 3DS friend code is 1375-7219-5805, and I’m making room in my list to ensure I have enough space for the 30 people I’ll be adding.
At 5pm PT/7pm CT/8pm ET on November 30, 2016, we’ll do the egg trades. I’ll contact people as they appear in my Pokémon Sun and Moon friend list on a first come, first serve basis. This is to ensure everyone gets the exact egg they want. You don’t have to send me anything good in return. This is about helping you get the extra starter you want.
Hatching these little guys should be pretty easy. Hopping on a Tauros outside the Battle Royal Dome on Akala and running in circles around the center plaza is an easy way to hatch eggs. First, head to Route 8 on Akala. Fletchinders can be found there during the day and at night in both versions, and these tend to have the ability Flame Body. Eggs hatch in half the time when kept in a party with a Flame Body Pokémon. Keep the Fletchinder in your party, then head to the fountain where pink nectar for Oricorio can be found. Hop on the Tauros, run in circles, and you should have your new Rowlet, Litten, or Popplio within five minutes.
As an aside, this riding Tauros is a good way to get eggs as well. Drop off Pokémon at the nursery on Akala. Head to the Battle Royal Dome. Run in circles for a certain number of loops. My Decidueye and Ditto didn’t like each other, so it took about 20 loops to get one egg from them. My Primarina and Ditto did, so it took about 15 loops per egg. By the way, if you need a Ditto, head to the Hokulani Observatory on Ula’ula. Dittos appear in the tall grass along the highway you follow to get to the bus you take back to Malie City.
If all goes well, everyone should have extra Pokémon Sun and Moon starters by December 1, 2016. This should give people plenty of time to train them up. Especially with Rental Teams and Friendly Competitions coming to Pokémon Sun and Moon in early 2017.
