Sonic Forces Teaser Shows Homing Attacks And A Red Star Ring

Last night, the SXSW 2017 Sonic the Hedgehog panel revealed Project Sonic 2017 is officially Sonic Forces and showed some off-screen gameplay, the game’s theme song, and a logo. Today,  Sega has released a clearer look at footage shown at last night’s event, allowing people a better look at elements within the game.

The video shows a city under attack by what appears to be Dr. Eggman’s forces. Things are collapsing and on fire while hordes of Death Egg Robot sentinels attack. Sonic collects rings, attacks enemies, avoids spikes, makes good use of boosters and bounce pads, and runs through a checkpoint. If you look closely at the video at the 10-second point, it seems like the containers Sonic is collecting hold some sort of creatures he’s rescuing. At the 16-second and 22-second marks, he appears to use series of Homing Attacks. A zipline element is present at the 24-second point. He then passes a Red Star Ring 25 seconds into the video.
