Kadokawa Games’ upcoming dungeon crawler The Lost Child shares a lot of similarities with Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei series, and you can see more of its demons and gameplay in a new trailer.

The Lost Child is based on the mythos of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron by the same creator Sawaki Takeyasu. It revolves around a magazine writer named Hayato Ibuki who was investigating successive suicides at Shinjuku Station until he gets pushed by a mysterious dark-haired woman. He then gets saved from a different woman by the name Barcia, who gives him a Pandora’s Box that should never be opened.

The box contains an item called “Gangaur,” used to capture and contain angels and demons. With this newfound power, Hayato is able to capture demons and make them his subordinates.

The monsters known as “Astrals” are found in dungeons, and they come in three types of Angels, Demons, and Fallen Angels. They can be befriended and powered up, with quite an in-depth system on doing just that, which you can read in more detail here.

Furthermore, The Lost Child has plenty of post-game content that awaits after beating the main story with the “Infinite Dungeons” feature, which is said to have endless dungeons for you to take on with your powered-up Astrals. If you’re wondering just how many dungeons, the developers are said to have spent over 300 hours playing the post-game dungeons alone.

The Lost Child releases in Japan on August 24, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
