When Does Ann Join the Party in Sand Land

Ann is a new character in Sand Land, originally introduced in the anime adaptation of the manga, and with an expanded role in the video game. While Thief and Rao are mainstays of your party in Sand Land, Ann is a special case since her involvement in the plot won’t become more apparent until the second half of the game.

When Does Ann Join the Party in Sand Land

Ann is introduced early on in the game, and she plays an introductory role during the events transpiring in the first region of Sand Land. She travels and joins your team in a temporary capacity during the first half of the game, and soon after sets up shop in Spino City, offering vehicle maintenance and crafting.

To have Ann join your party permanently, you will first need to complete the Sand Land portion of the main story. During the early part of the second act, players will still need to go through a few introductory missions in Sand Land before they reach the new verdant region of Forest Land. Shortly after and during the “Rescue Mission!” quest part of the main story, Ann will rejoin your group, and afterward, she will permanently join your party. As an added bonus, during this main quest, you will also unlock your first Battle Armor and expand your options in combat.

Having Ann in your party will unlock her skill tree, as well as have her accompany you in your travels alongside Rao and Thief. As the mechanic of the party, Ann’s skills focus on offering a wide variety of support options for your vehicle, from buffing to healing various status effects during combat.

Sand Land is now available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. A demo of the game is also available.
