HAL Lab’s Metal Slader Glory Gets A Fan Translation

Recommended Videos

Metal Slader Glory, HAL Laboratory’s final title as an independent developer before being bought by Nintendo, has received a fan translation by translation community member Pennywise that has been 10 years in the making. [Thanks, RPGSite!]

The game is a visual novel that features detailed sprites and animations for the Famicom. The game takes place in a world where a war was waged between colonies eight years ago. 17-year old war orphan Tadashi Himukai buys a used worker-mech that turns out to be a Metal Slader combat mecha. The mecha displays a mysterious message that says, “EARTH IN PERIL… SEEK THE CREATOR”, and Tadashi, together with his sister Azusa and girlfriend Elina, head to space in order to find the truth.

Here’s some gameplay of the game and patch in action:

Metal Slader Glory is available for the Nintendo Famicom.
