In a roundabout move, G.rev is bringing Under Defeat back to arcades with Under Defeat HD+. First released in arcades back in 2005 and then Dreamcast. Most recently, Under Defeat was re-released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I have a conflicted relationship with Under Defeat HD. On the one hand, I find the game’s basic systems rather interesting.

Rising Star Games is becoming the main shooter publisher in the West. They brought Dodonpachi Resurrection and Deathsmiles to Europe. Now, they are working with Senko no Ronde developer G.rev on Under Defeat HD.

Rising Star Games are handling publishing duties in both North America and Europe.

Rising Star Games could be called “Shooting Star Games” with all of the shooters they’re bringing to the market. Akai Katana came out in May and Under Defeat HD from G.Rev will be out in the fall.

Rising Star also announced a European release for Under Defeat HD Deluxe Edition for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

You can play Under Defeat HD with borders or select New Order mode to console version fill the screen.

The Dreamcast masterpiece, Under Defeat, will be revived, says the game’s official site. G.rev is bringing their vertical shooter to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February 2012.

The game’s 16:9 widescreen mode has an experimental look that shows the game in the center and flips the game 90 degrees and plays it in the border.

G.rev, makers of Strania and Wartech: Senko no Ronde, are bringing one of their classic shooters to modern consoles.

G.rev’s vertically scrolling helicopter shooter Under Defeat is set to come out next year as a PlayStation 3 game.
