There’s a big update for Zenless Zone Zero coming later this month, and in addition to new characters and story elements we’ll see no more TV mode in campaign quests and PS5 Pro ray-tracing support in 1.4. That arrives on December 18, 2024.
HoYoVerse first announced that the TV mode elements would be removed from the Zenless Zone Zero campaign back in September 2024. It didn’t offer an exact date at the time. Now we know the 1.4 update will mark the removal of that part, which involves guiding Bangboo through puzzles and maps made up of TV screens between story and fighting segments. The update also means past commissions will have a Fairy Auto Explore feature to automatically go through them. Going forward, all campaign quests will only involve actual exploration through areas, fights, and story scenes. As for the ray-tracing, that part of the update is only for PS5 Pro owners playing Zenless Zone Zero.Â
This will be another Zenless Zone Zero update that will feature Section 6 prominently, with the new characters being Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa. Both are S-Rank characters. Miyabi is the first person with Frost ability, who can freeze enemies with Frost Corruption. She is a close-range character with a sword. Meanwhile, Harumasa is an archer, but he isn’t limited to ranged attacks. His bow can transform into a blade as well. He’ll also send off Electro Quiver traps with his attacks. We’ll also get to go to two new places after the update. These are Port Elpis and Reverb Arena. You can also switch which character you’ll appear as when you walk through New Eridu and be able to have ones you pulled in the gacha run alongside you.
Here’s the full Special Program for Zenless Zone Zero 1.4. English subtitles are available if you turn on closed captions.

Zenless Zone Zero is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 1.4 update arrives on December 18, 2024.
