As part of the Final Fantasy XIV 2026 Anaheim Fan Festival announcements, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed there will be two new jobs in the FFXIV Evercold expansion. He didn’t specify what they will be. However, he did confirm they will be a DPS and a Tank. In addition, there will be a new job action system, which will add Reborn and Evolved modes for the 21 legacy jobs prior to 8.0. However, jobs added after Evercold won’t get Reborn modes. Also, the general level cap will be increased from 100 to 110.

Yoshida didn’t reveal the identities of the two jobs. He only confirmed they will be entirely new classes and original to FFXIV. People can’t look to past Final Fantasy games for hints. The DPS will also be a physical ranged attacker. One of them will be revealed in July 2026 at the Berlin Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival.

As for the new Reborn and Evolved job systems for FFXIV, these can be swapped between at any time when out of battle for the 21 main jobs. (Limited jobs like Blue Mage and Beastmaster won’t be supported.) Reborn will be based on the current job actions and rotations in the game. Evolved will involve fewer inputs and new rotations. The job level and equipment will be shared between the two modes. Naoki Yoshida did admit that he thinks the Evolved mode might be slightly more powerful, but that both Reborn and Evolved will be compatible for all fights, balanced, and supported.
