E3 – Zelda Twilight Princess with the Wii controller

In Nintendo’s closed off Wii section they showcased Twilight Princess with the new controller. There were two different demos that Nintendo had one with fishing and the other had a dungeon to explore. The dungeon demo (which we have footage of below) had Link battling using the remote as a portable sword. You could do a three hit combo with a downward slashing finishing move by moving the controller up then down. The spin attack was also done by using the remote controller. The separate analog stick was used to move Link around. Other new Wii features include how the gale boomerang works. Players could use the remote to scan for objects to hit and then hold down the bottom button to select them. The Wii control here took a few seconds to get used to targeting, but it was still easy to pick up. Check out some of the footage from the Twilight Princess below.
