Now we know what that Nier trademark was for. Nier is an upcoming action game set in a world ruined by pestilence. Nier is also the name of the hero who is seaching for a cure to the Black Scrawl virus which infected his daughter.
No word about the gameplay, but players will face “dark, unrecognizable creatures”, perhaps morphed by the virulent Black Scrawl. Cavia, the team behind the Drakengard games, is acting as the developer. Nier is scheduled to come out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
