While comcept has been busy with games like Soul Sacrifice and Mighty No. 9, we haven’t heard much about Kaio: King of Pirates which was announced before both of those. The Kaio site was quietly updated and now pegs the Nintendo 3DS game for 2014.

Keiji Inafune talked to Siliconera about Kaio: King of Pirates and explained that while the game uses the Romance of the Three Kingdoms as a base for its story it will be an adaptation similar to how Dragon Ball is based on Journey to the West.
