Monster Hunter X Shows Off The Insect Glaive And Light Bowgun’s Stylish Hunting Arts

Recommended Videos

Capcom’s latest series of Monster Hunter X videos have been demonstrating some of their new moves with Hunting Arts and Styles. The latest two shows us what’s new with the Insect Glaive and Light Bowgun.

Starting with a look at the Insect Glaive weapon, that made its debut in Monster Hunter 4. Its Guild Style lets you handle the weapon the exact same way you did for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

Insect Glaives were previously able to jump on their own, and while it might sound redundant to have them go with the Aerial Style, it’ll give them more options to get on top for jump attacks.

Its Hunting Art skill summons a swarm of glowing insects that protects you while attacking any aggressive monsters that try getting a piece of you.

The Light Bowgun in its Guild style will play like it has, with various abilities to take on monsters while being able to provide some support as well. Its aerial style lets you jump over the monster while dropping shots on their backs, while doing a badass mid-air flip.

Its Hunting Art is called “Bullet Geiser,” and it lets you plant ammo on the ground, followed by an evasive back-jump maneuver while setting it off with another shot.

To catch up on the other Monster Hunter X weapon videos, our previous report featured the Switch Axe and Charge Blade, and you can check out an earlier report for the Great Sword, Long Sword, Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Hunting Horn, and Hammer.

Monster Hunter X will release in Japan on November 28, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.
