English Version Of The Grisaia Trilogy Still Coming To PS Vita, But It’s Been Difficult

Sekai Project has apologized for the lack of news regarding the PlayStation Vita versions of the Grisaia trilogy in its latest Kickstarter update.

A recent member to the team called Audi was brought on to help out with the difficulties of getting a game on PSN. And, in fact, it is Audi who has written this update.

“In order to be approved, let alone have your titles viable to be put on a service like PSN requires a lot of paperwork, not to mention legalities from Japan, cleared up,” writes Audi. “GDD (Game Design Documents) need to be made from scratch to fully explain the game inside and out, content needs to be accurately presented and explained, and the list goes on.”

Due to having to jump through all these hoops the PS Vita version of the visual novel trilogy is taking a while to get sorted out and approved for PS Vita. However, it now seems that most of this work has been done, leading Audi to say: “we’ve now been able to progress rapidly and should have some very good news for Grisaia fans in the coming weeks”

Audi also promises that more updates on the state of the PlayStation Vita versions will be issued going forward.

The first of the visual novels, The Fruit of Grisaia, was released on Steam for PC earlier this year. The other two – The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia – are still on their way.

The English versions of the visual novels were funded through Kickstarter by hitting the base goal of $160,000. A stretch goal to bring these English versions to PS Vita was then set at $240,000. In the end, Sekai Project raised $475,255 to work on the localization and ports.
