Monster Hunter Stories’ Qurupeco And Aptonoth Are Silly But Pretty Useful

Recommended Videos

Monster Hunter Stories’ main attraction is being able to partner up with various monsters with different abilities. Capcom’s latest videos introduce us to the friendly Qurupeco and Aptonoth.

Qurupeco

The Qurupeco actually has a lot going for it in Monster Hunter Stories with access to various abilities. It can imitate the cries of other monsters to call them out, heal the party, or blow up enemies with its special “Peco Bomb Rain.”

Aptonoth

The Aptonoth isn’t known for fighting, but this herbivore is definitely one you’ll want to ride while gathering, as it has the ability to display nodes on the bottom-screen. It can also use a scan ability to get more details on enemy monsters such as their elemental strengths and weaknesses. Its special attack “Slipping Dive” is also a pretty humorous one that packs a punch.

Monster Hunter Stories will release in Japan on October 8, 2016 for Nintendo 3DS. Check our earlier report for a look at videos for Lagombi, Brachydios, Lagiacrus, and Zinogre.
