Final Fantasy XV’s art director, Yusuke Naora, recently announced via Twitter that he was resigning from his position at Square Enix after 24 years.

In addition to XV, Naora also worked as the art director on Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and X. He also supervised the HD remasters of X and X-2 and was involved in the trio of Final Fantasy XIII games.

In the series of messages on Twitter, Naora described Final Fantasy XV as “the greatest ending” after he revealed that the game’s director, Hajime Tabata, showed him the final scenes of the game.

Though he is resigning, Naora did mention he would continue to work on designs and illustrations for Final Fantasy, most likely as a freelancer.

Final Fantasy XV will release worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
