Final Fantasy XV Goes Gold, Gets Online Multiplayer

Recommended Videos

Final Fantasy XV has gone gold. This means the game is finished. It’s done, and ready to be put on discs and uploaded to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital storefronts. To commemorate that event, details about all four DLC add-ons and  “Omen,” a new Final Fantasy XV CG cinematic trailer, has been released.

Square Enix confirmed that development is shifting to Final Fantasy XV’s DLC. In addition to Episode Gladiolus, Episode Ignis, and Episode Prompto, which let players control each party member in an original story as they explore new areas and collect equipment, a Comrades expansion pack will be released. Comrades will add an online cooperative multiplayer mode in which Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto will all be playable. People will be able to fight together to complete battles, with each one controlling a different character.

The Final Fantasy XV “Omen” trailer was made by Digic Pictures. People who have watched Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV may recognize that name, as they helped with the tie-in movie’s production. Digic Pictures has also worked on cutscenes, teasers, and trailers for games like Civilization V, Darksiders: Wrath of War, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Mass Effect 3, and the Assassin’s Creed series.

Final Fantasy XV will come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 29, 2016. The season pass will be sold for $24.99, though the three character episodes and Comrades expansion will also be sold separately.
