2017 Begins With A New Omori Trailer

omori Back on April 21, 2014, a Kickstarter was launched to crowdfund Omori, a PC and Nintendo 3DS game based on Omocat’s Omori’s Story. 5,910 backers raised $203,300 to make it a reality, and it was supposed to appear in 2016. However, 2017 has begun with a new Omori trailer and explanation for its delayed release.

The Omori delay was caused by upgrading platforms. Development moved from RPGMaker VX Ace to RPGMaker MV. This was done to ensure Omori could come to Macs and ensure compatibility with more operating systems. However, while this move did mean access to the PIXI4 graphics engine and new technology, it meant changing the core system and remaking plug-ins that were working with RPGMaker VX Ace, but not RPGMaker MV.

A new release date estimate has yet to be announced for Omori. Omori will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS and PC. The crewneck, t-shirt, and pin set backer awards will begin being sent out in February 2017.
